After making it this far through the process with no glitches... we finally hit a bump in the road. :(

Today I received 3 e-mails saying on Sep 2 an RFE was mailed. Have no idea what it is for, but I'm thinking it will be about the I-864 since that seems to be the most popular RFE item!

Will give more information when I find out. Hopefully it won't be for something that requires tax information, since all my tax information is in a 40' Matson container sailing across the Pacific ocean right now! :o

I know, it's sorta depressing to make it this far, like we did, without anything going wrong.

Chances are you're about to join the I-864 RFE club. I ordered my tax transcripts from the IRS so that might be the first thing to think about. Seems everyone is getting them, and why I don't know. Everything they wanted was right there in the envelope. *sigh* I'm gonna give them what they want...I'm too tired to argue with anyone about it.

We are in the I-864 RFE club. Looks like they were confused about me being self employed. They want schedule C from my return but because my business is set up as a S corp I submit a schedule E. Sent ALL the necessary documents and letters, BUT....

sent it USPS with delivery confirmation and when I checked it said my package was REFUSED on Aug 28 by addressee in Lee's Summit MO 64064, the address they told me to send it to. It is being returned to sender, but I don't have it back yet. Can't understand what I did wrong. If it doesn't show up by Thursday I am headed off to the post office I mailed it from to find out where it is. Oh yes, I will be sending out another copy of the requested info. Perhaps Fedex?

Might not be a bad idea. I sent ours by USPS Priority Mail initially, so we could track it. I sent them every shred of evidence I have regarding my income, but, oh well...I s'pose we'll be submitting it once again. THIS time with a detailed letter explaining each source of income. :)

I sent in the I-693A (in a sealed evelope), along with a copy of the DS-3025.

As for the I-864, I sent in a tax transcript for last year, even though I had transcripts for the last 3 years. Since my income was well above the 125% level, I didn't feel sending all three was necessary, even though I filled in the blanks for 2004 and 2003. I didn't send anything else with my I-864.

Is there anyway to find out in advance what the RFE is for? If I call the NVC number will they tell me? :(

My bet is that they want more prove of employer income.... that's what we got after foolishly following the "new guidelines" and just submitting W-2's and 1040's for proof of income. Did you submit 6 months of pay stubs and a letter from your employer on letter headed paper.........??

the I-864 RFE club grows yet again....... :(

Thanks brother Dean. I'm taking this with a grain of salt, because as long as we are together, that's all that matters!

Paul, I didn't submit a letter from my employer or pay stubs, and I'm pretty sure that's what the RFE will be for. Yes, I too was foolish enough to follow the directions on the new I-864.

If they are going to continue to send RFEs, why don't they just go back to the old form, or change the directions?!!! :protest: But anything that makes sense would be unacceptable for the USCIS!!! :diablo:
