Well... if we look back... there were the crusades... that was a definately... "Your with us, or we kill you" type of campaign.

The crusades were a response to Muslim aggression. So, yes, it does go farther back. History repeats itself.

Isolated incidents, in a 3rd world country with a long history of despotism. There needs to be a sense of perspective about this. And no - ethnic / religious motivated violence is not justified on any level, by anyone.

There's been fighting between Christians and Muslims in some African countries for a long long time, and each side uses an excuse to fight the other side. I'm really not surprised. Of course the christians who commit these acts are not following their belief, they are just doing whatever they want.

I have a wonderful life and try follow Jesus' teachings in the Bible as best as I can.

The bottom line its, there's nutcases in every race, creed, religion & non-religion. I've met jerky atheists, hippies, christians, insert ANY type of person here. If someone who said they liked coca cola went around killing people, that doesn't mean I'd say everyone who likes coca cola is dumb or that I'd give up drinking it. So while some are glad they got rid of their religious beliefs, etc, I'm very glad to be holding strong to mine.
