we are doing a CRBA for my son and have set up an appt for may 10th in HCM city...i will be there in-person to do it. should i still write down my us address on his passport application? will they send it to my US address or can we pick it up at the HCM embassy once it's available? my preference is for my fiancee to pick it up and i won't have to send it back and forth and waste time (as she's also waiting for an K-1 interview and will need his passport before they issue her a visa)

When I did the CRBA for my daughter. They gave us a slip to come back and pick up the Certificate and passport at the embassy 2-3 weeks after the interview. Our daughter's SSN card was sent to my wife's house in VN through the mail because we used her address. But you can also have the SSN card sent to your house also.

thx ricochet...guess it doesn't matter what address u put down for the passport if it's done at a foreign embassy, you'll have to go pick it up  . the ssn can be sent to my permanent us address then.
