Apparently my 18 years in Canada were a sheltered life, because I had to google "saskatoon pie" to figure out what it was. Even now, I'm still not sure what a saskatoon berry is. That'll have to be googled next :P

Anyway, I looooove the frozen Butterfinger Creme Pie that you can get at Wal-Mart in the US for $5.00.

As for real pies...

1) Strawberry Rhubarb

2) Key Lime

3) Pumpkin

5) Coconut Creme

I'd much rather eat a pie than any other dessert, too... so this thread is making me want one!!

saskatoons look a little like blueberries but saskatoons grow on bushes and they have a more stronger flavour then blueberries... I think saskatoons grow more in the prairies....

mmm...I love blueberries so I'll have to try a saskatoon pie someday. :D

I think saskatoons have way more flavour then blueberries

Have you found any out here in So. Cali?

no, I haven't looked.... I think they only grow in the prairies , prolly too warm for them down here...

just found this on Wikipedia...

The Saskatoon berry (Amelanchier alnifolia) or Juneberry, is a serviceberry native to the Canadian prairie provinces, Canada's Northwest and Yukon Territories, British Columbia, and parts of Alaska and the northwestern and northcentral United States.

What's the definition of pie? It's very confusing.

From my understanding of 'pie'; sweet, apple; savoury, chicken and mushroom.

I always thought keylime et al were tarts (ie no crust on top) They are very yummy though...hmmmm now I want to bake one :)

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

A tart is a type of pie, I think, the difference being that it's open-faced. But it's still a pie.
