Never give you SS number to a online site

The safest line of action would be not to submit your SSN, your name, and do not apply for a job.

Stay home, don't answer the phone, and stay away from the window!

But I'm adventurous. Here's my SSN: 508569595 (really) and my FICO score is 806.

Now do something really bad with it: buy a houseboat or an airplane or apply for a black American Express card. Go ahead and surprise me what good it did for you to know my SSN!

Edited by Just Bob

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

You shouldn't have a problem entering your SSN on an online app if you can confirm the website is legit. If you're using a job finding site like monster or snagajob you're pretty safe since they redirect you to the company's website to fill out the application. Always make sure the page you're on is LEGIT. Do some research and ask around the net if you're not sure. I'm actually more worried about filling out a paper app and handing it to a manager that looks shady.

As a natural precaution you should always be checking up on your credit and banking statements.

Yes and I got a job with it. I used my states job website.

After I got the job I deleted all the personal information from the site.
