I have been checking the case status search page and entering our receipt number in there but keep getting the message that "Status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system." Our notice date is January 31/06 so we should be in "the system" by now shouldn't we? This is the web site I have been trying at.. http://uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm and am wondering if I am even looking in the right area. Part of the guide there says our reciept number will start with three letters as it does but our three letters are MSC where as the examples they give are "It begins with three letters such as (EAC, WAC, LIN, or SRC)"

Yes...you are looking in the right place. I wouldn't be too concerned about not finding your case. An immigratiaon officer at USCIS told me that the database is not the primary and that it is only about 80% accurate. Apparently, the data is entered into their main system but only downloaded to the tracking system periodically. Some of my applications took weeks to show up. Your's will get there eventually.

No sweat ... our numbers didn't appear for months!!!

Some people's numbers don't appear until biometrics are taken.

We're having the same problem right now. We had our interview last week and though it says our case was touched the day after, it says we can't be found in the automated system at this time.

I don't think it's anything to worry about though. We know they physically have our files, so it shouldn't matter too much what the website says
