My wife and I went to honeymoon in Thailand. We went with the tours from Vietnam Airline back 2008.

The total cost is around 300-400 including airline ticket, and 3-4 night hotels, and more.

Thailand has a transportation like TUO TUO = Xe koe = Xe Do = 3 wheels motorcycles. Be very careful, sometimes are very danger.

I would recommend you to go with the tours... safer, and since we don't speak Thai language.

OR check with thailand airline.

My wife and I have lot of fun with the tours, and we love thailand, the beach is beautiful, and Pattaya.

You can book airasia.com online. That's what we used in Jan.

We took the bus to Angkor Wat in Cambodia, took a taxi to the Thai border, crossed on foot and took another taxi to Bangkok. Then we flew back to Saigon. Use taxis with a meter in Thailand or those tuktuk 3 wheeled motorbike things. Your wife does not require a visa for Thailand.

Check tripadvisor.com on what to do and where to stay. Have fun!

Should I go with the tour or do a self planning trip??

My wife want to do a self planning trip like our honneymoon in Singapore..

So what do you guys think?

Tour is better planned but they might have things that arent what you really want. Check the tour, if you like it the way it is go with a tour, if not you can hire out taxi's to take you where you want.

Thailand is a tourist friendly enough place to do on your own. I lived in Thailand for four years and would travel solo or with a fellow American companion often and very infrequently had trouble. If you enjoy Vietnam, you're likely to love Thailand. Too much to do to list here, but I'd be happy to discuss any destination spots and give you the advantages and disadvantages.

I would choose Hua Hin over Pattaya. It is about the same distance from Bangkok, 3 hours, and is smaller and cleaner, although in the past decade it has seen an explosion in tourists like Pattaya. Depending on when you go i.e. the monsoon some beach locations would be preferable. If you enjoy mountains, the north has some scenic locales.

Bangkok itself is fun for a couple of days. However, the bustle can get old quickly. Having lived there I prefer to spend as little time as possible. Nonetheless I still have my guilty pleasures such as Oishi Japanese buffet. A good one in the Thong Lor area and a premium one in Siam Discovery shopping mall.

Feel free to respond or PM me for more info.

We're heading back to Thailand this June for a month and I'm looking forward to it.

The problem with Pattaya is there are so many prostitutes that the single sex tourists will look at your wife with that "which bar did you get her from ?" look. Some women are offended by that.

For most if the main tourist places in Thailand there's no need for a tour - just get a Lonely Planet guide or similar and get ideas from them.

Actually My wife she want to visit Pattaya.. she also want to see the Tiffany show..

she want to see how they are...

just a one time experience of seeing the She-male.....

I know Pattaya has a lot of prostitutions there..

You should check out the tours at Vietravel. They have the tours that go to Bangkok-Pattaya for under $300 for 5 days. All included except for shopping :P ...ohh, if I remember right, the first few shows in Pattaya are included too..pay a little extra if you want to see more shows.
