Hi all,

Please I really need your help on this one!:

I had my GC and was able to start the naturalization process.

I last used my GC couple of days before the FP Then I couldn't find it. I was able to do my FP without my GC just with my regular ID.

I am still looking for it frantically but I am thinking: What if.. I can't find it ? Id there any way that I can have my naturalization interview and subesquently my oath without my GC? (Knowing that they have hte copy of it in my application package)

People told me that they just take it so that they can shred it... So can I explain that to the naturalization services? I am in a rush for this because I need my citizanship to bring my fiance here. So I do not want any delay.. And I know that asking for a new GC in this process will definitely make things longer!.. Please please help with any good advises!..

Million of thanks!

Apply for another one..

you're not able to complete the process without having the document which is verified at the interview and turned over at the time of the ceremony. you are not likely to get it before the process is completed however yo would have had the necessary docs showing that you applied.

There are 2 ways to do this:

1) The safe way.

After you turned your house and your car upside down, file an I-90 ASAP. Take the receipt with you to the interview. The I.O. will sign it off and that's all there is to it.

2) The risky way.

Go to the interview and explain the situation. Most likely the I.O. will ask you to file an I-90 anyway, but if you get lucky, it will save you serious cash

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Thank you so much.. I am looking everywhere.. But couldn't find it stilll :(((

Wanted to know: Do you think I can file something at the police?? And they will accept it?... And in the case I have to file the I-90 form, do you know how long it takes for the receipt to come back to me? Thank yu

Could invite all of us over and help you look for it. One trick that works for me is to lie down in a dark room and dig deep into my subconscious mind.

Stepdaughter is always losing stuff, told her if she lost her green card, would cost her 400 bucks to replace it, I am not paying for that. She had it for her oath ceremony, I had her oath letter. Was great to get rid of that damned curse of a thing.

"Look into my eyes, you are going into a deep sleep, now think back when was the last time you saw your green card."

Google translation:

"Please Do not waste time, apply for a new card already. You have a chance to interview with AC that have nothing at all. Your received will come in less than 10 days after you have received your application for immigration. For me a tell if I had known during my trip there 2 years. It was less than 3 months since I received the new card, but less than 10 days for receipt. Please, please do not waste time. Because they will need proof and help you received as evidence of having lost the card. Good luck and courage!"

For us, received special permission from my wife and stepdaughter to open any of their mail from the USCIS, would scan it immediately and with my computer on a network, would be stored on three other computers. Receiving mail was new to them in this country, Venezuela manages to lose 99% of their mail. Is history now, but printed out color photos of their green cards to carry with them, they were never asked to see them, and kept their originals locked up in my safe. Wouldn't have done this if the USCIS wasn't so unreasonable, lengthly, and super expensive for a replacement.

Stepdaughters interview was last February, in January, she had her wallet in a 150 buck jacket at the school library, went to use the restroom, it was gone when she got back. Called her credit card company, got that blocked and was 14 bucks for a new drivers license that only took her about 15 minutes. Thank God, or me, her green card was locked up. Police are totally worthless in these situations, don't ask any questions, just fill out a report. With US citizenship, don't have to carry your certificate, figure that out.

We had to send in a photocopy of my wife's expired green card and one year extension notice due to the long delays in I-751 processing. Already made an infopass appointment just two weeks before her interview, but her ten year card just came in. She only had it for seven weeks than had to turn it back in.

So, do you have a copy of your green card? Need that for your application so won't waste time showing proof you applied for another. Get more concerned about my women, don't even have pockets like us men have and have to carry a purse that is easy to steal. Or leave their wallet in a coat pocket. What a relief to get rid of that damned way overpriced card.

PLEASE, Never use google or other translation programs for SOMEONE ELSE post, becuase it will give misleading information to others. These programs give wrong meaning of information by using wrong words and sometimes no sense at all. You can always say or ask and we can post it in english as well.

I am REQuESTING that you delete or remove it. It is giving wrong meaning of the post. Thank you for understanding, and complying as well.

"I advised him/her to not wast time and apply right the way for the card. It will take less then 10 days to get the reciept. The card may take less then 3 months with my own experiance. It will help to have the reciept at the interview then having nothing at all.Since they will like to see a proof of it, having a reciept he/she has a chance with the process........"

As you can see your google translation has some words and sentese that are not making any meaning with the post. What is AC?????.....more.

That is why we have the rule not to post in anything but English, except in the regional forums. If you don't want to share a post with the world, send it by Personal Messenger.

While you were there, did you get either an I-94 or an I-551 stamp in your current valid foreign passport to prove you are here legally? What a mess that was when the USCIS misplaced our I-751, feds didn't seem to give a damn, but our state sure did.

That is when it hit me, have to deal with our subdivision laws, city, township, county, state, and federal government laws as well. Plus pay taxes to all these freeloaders that can't solve problems because they have to get the answers from Madison or Washington, call it local control, but then you realize they are just freeloaders.

What a nightmare that was, federal government is suppose to be in charge of immigration, didn't do anything, so the state takes over and puts people in charge that don't know #######. What in the hell is an I-551 stamp as one small example. Really hit home as to what a screwed up country we are living in.
