AOS and unpaid ticket + another issue with vehicle

Hi everybody, here are my 2 new questions + concerns:

1.I have an unpaid speeding ticket from 2009 in another state, will this interfere with my AOS?I know they do a background check and all that...

p.s.I was driving with my international license since I couldnt get a state one(out of status),the reason I had to drive is cause I was pregnant and I had to drive myself to the doctors visits..when I got pulled over the cop was nice and told me hes gonna give me a ticket for the speeding only but he made me promise to go to the dmv and get a NH dl.I stopped driving ever since.

2.Now the bigger issue- we bought our truck in 2008 when we were living in NH,it was in my name only,we dont have it anymore it was totaled in an accident last year.we didnt have insurance on it since in NH u r not required to...so now the truck is not documented as a total loss nowhere..we only have 1 of its license plates, but we havent mailed it to the DMV in NH yet to report the loss.In fact I know the truck's registration is suspended since Oct.2009... being that it was in my name will this get me in trouble when they do the background checks and stuff???

my husband thinks I wont get in trouble for the unpaid ticket cause its only a traffic violation, not a criminal one..I on the other hand want to pay it..we are on a budget and the ticket is $260,sooo if it wont cause any problems with my AOS hubby wants to leave it unpaid til we are done with this expensive AOS process..

what do u guys think I should do?? was anybody in the same or similar situation??

appreciate all ur time and ur help!

You may have a warrant for your arrest for failure to pay a speeding ticket.

It's probably easier to just pay the ticket than to deal with all that.

It's your choice, Good Luck.

Speeding, in most cases, is an infraction. As you say, not a crime. Failure to appear in court and/or pay the fine by the date written on the ticket is a misdemeanor - a crime that usually results in the issuance of a warrant for arrest. It's not a crime that would make you inadmissible, but it would be embarrassing to have to answer questions about it at an AOS interview.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!
