Go to church. That is the best way to find a good woman, and will end up costing you less in the end. Included in the cost consider how much it will cost to bring the RUB'S parents over in about three or four years, and supporting them for the rest of their lives.

You guys have to do this, we all here in the RUB forum do not. It is not expected and most do not even send money on a regular basis.

We marry the woman, not the family.

Hmmmm... if he's looking for the cheapest way, why is he looking for an RUB woman? It will cost money just to bring her there...

Talking about dating websites - I don't trust any of those...

If he lives in MA he can just go to Cape Cod in the summer some time - I'm pretty sure there are a lot of FSU students there, so he can try to meet somebody in person, not through dating websites.

Yep I agree. If cost is an issue, then NO international relationship is what he should be looking for. Keep it at home.

Ask Merrillizer how to to do the local gal thang.

Interesting you say that, my bride-to-be has mentioned "oh if something happens to my father, do you mind if my mother lives with us". My ex's mother tried to get me thrown into jail because she hated me so much. Uh oh. My little house will get a lot smaller me-thinketh... ((((

In the RUB forum, we don't marry the whole family - we marry a spouse. We're not under the same contractual obligations you guys are.

Really? RUB wives feel no obligations to their family at home? Good riddance and all?

No. Not all of us. I send money to help my MIL and will be helping her to immigrate here as well. She's the reason my wife is as great as she is. To us, there is nothing more important than family.

That's what my weekly visitors from the church always tell me when they come by "You should come to church, lots of single pretty women that would really like to meet you". Ick! You marry a woman you met at church do you know what she is going to want to do every Sunday? Go to church.. That's worse than having to dress up and go to a wedding every week.. I have to dress up for work, Sunday I want to wear a T-shirt and take my dogs to the mountains or go on a hike with the wife or something useful like that.

What's up with parents? My parents don't even want to move to the States.

I think i will be helping them, but it's just cause they're my parents and they raised me the way I am :innocent: And that's the way it works in Russia. But I'm going to do that only when I start making money.

My fiance is always talking that he should help them with everything, but they feel uncomfortable about that.

Get a job assignment there making a hefty US salary, 40% overseas bonus, monthly living expenses, private driver, ALL tax free. Ukrainian women were everywhere and they PAID ME to be there and meet them. I highly recommend it.

Jealous?

In general this is true. Alla's mother was not living off my money before I met her, why would she now? Of course if my MIL needed something we would send money. We would send money to my American mother if she needed it. So what? My MIL is an adult woman that worked all her life and has a pension and her own apartment all paid for. She is an adult.

Not to be a killjoy, but if your friend is worrying about how much money this process will cost him, before he even starts, then I would suggest this method isn't for him. There's nothing wrong with being aware of scams, excessive fees and the like; but this process isn't cheap and IMO expense shouldn't be the first thing on your mind, but how to achieve the best results should; regardless of cost.

RUB women are expensive and cheap at twice the price. You pay for the best.

In church? No thanks. If she goes to church (ever) it is a deal breaker for me.

My MIL has no desire to even visit here. we go there twice per year, but so what? I like vacations too! Besides, I recently had to fly to Chicago and it cost 20% MORE than our tickets to Kiev for this summer. We kept our place in Ukraine (across the street from my MIL) since it is paid for and costs about $400 per year to "keep" Cheaper than a week at a hotel and we use the place for 2 months per year at least.

My thoughts exactly. I already made the mistake of marrying a religious woman once in my life. It was ok for the first year or so until I realized that I was only going to church for her. When I started coming up with reasons and excuses not to go, our relationship started to deteriorate. Never again.

Now that's funny!

Really? RUB wives feel no obligations to their family at home? Good riddance and all?

RUB wives don't even feel obligations to their husbands, why on earth would they feel obligated to people 5,000 miles away?

I know it's traditional in the PI and most other Asian cultures for the kids to take care of the parents on down the road. That doesn't apply at all in RUB countries. You'll be hardpressed to find a RUB sucker husband that's also imported mom and dad, sisters, cousins, brothers, etc. - a pretty common practice among PI fams.

Simply put, there's no "added expense" on account of the family once she gets here.

I do not agree with the statement about my wife not caring for me. I have never felt so "cared for" in my life. Took some getting used to.

The rest is generally true more often than not, I agree.
