hi im just wondering - cause our cut off date is december 2010 - thats the time we filed for l130 f2a - since my husband is still a permanent resident.. he got denied when he applied for citizenship because his has drunk driving issues way back 2008 or 2009 -

i dnt understand that much - the dates of receiving a visa - cause as what i saw in the visa bulletin for f2a filers - by the month of november 2011 - they will be releasing july 2010 filers.. (correct me if im wrong) so in my own computation - and based on the gap of the no. of months (basically 2-3 months monthly) maybe by february or march 2011 - the visa for dec 2010 filers will be available..? i dont really know - please help me understand.. thank you...

Hi ximeone-makimeh, then your case's priority date (PD) is in December 2010. Lets discuss some features of F2A so we may have a concept of how long to get your case done.

As you may have known, the Dec 2010 visa bulletin (VB) for F2A reached the cut-off date of 08/01/10 i.e. applicants who have a PD being 07/31/10 and earlier may be allotted a visa number in that month, of course only if their case has been completed. There were many cases at that time, those with PD from 2007 to first half of 2010, being open and/or in process of submitting papers and fees in order to complete at NVC.

According to the very rapid pace of cut-off dates, there were hopes that F2A would become current in February or March 2011. However, the VB got a retrogression of many Family preference cut-off dates in early 2011 :crying: . Now that the F2A cut-off date has come up to 08/22/07 for June compared to 01/01/07 for March, we can be optimistic about the upcoming VBs then about our waiting period  .

From what Ive learned, I expect F2A to go up to March 2008 for July VB which is to say an over 6-month jump  ! If so, and if the VB keeps that speed for several months later (I pray for that every day and night!), then your case will be open soon and your reunion will be only in months, not years! Good luck! thank you soo much for clearing things out - it is not an assurance that the VB has gone that leap- we will just continue praying that it will continue its pace - and hopefully by then we will be able to be with our love ones - i cant sleep every night thinking about it.. and its really killing me - thank you soo much sir - for the information... and for making me feel a lot better! God bless you more...

I also want to add hopes in this....VB for F2A will never be retrogressed since USCIS has promised to completed I-130 within 6 months period...also good news that atleast 75% of 2010 cases documentarily qualified at NVC which means very few chance of retrogression for F2A in the future...I belived State deparment will uses the visa number correctly and minimize the time frame of F2A processing.
