I guess that case completion date at NVC has effect on getting an interview because of the rule that immigration visa should be pursued within 1 year. Just like the guy from new Delhi who got an schedule for a June interview probably because his case is nearing 1 year on Aug 30 when his case was received. Does it make sense. Just my opinion.

hmmm sooo how long to the interview.

Well I am imagining in the case of daughter with PD Dec 2008 which was completed at NVC in Oct2010 that the interview would be about Aug to Sept since I learned from the tread that NVC is working on the August2010 cases already. Miami boy may afterall be correct. As I said this is still a guessing game.

Some observations.

FY 2006/ 2011 CUT OFF DATES

FY 2006

We saw the last retrogression on July 2006. F2A moved from 22 April 2001 to 1 Sep 1999. There was no dramatic forward movement before retrogression as seen in year 2010. When the next FY started huge number of new visas were available in the first quarter and the dates came back to normal in OCT 2006 (First month of FY 2007). Rate of movement before retrogression was 1 month.

Take a look at June 2006 cut off dates (22 April 2001) and an year later June 2007 cut off dates (22 April 2002). Net movement in 12 month was approximately 12 month. @ 1month per every month. No matter how they accelerated or deccelerated the bulletin in whole year, at the end of the year bulletin moved 12 months.

FY 2010.

Similarly consider FY 2010, prior to retrogression rate of movement was 2 months/every month.

F2A cut off dates have seen a huge movement from 01 Aug 2006 to 01 Aug 2010. Assuming that there was no retrogression the dates has to move forward 2 months starting from April 2010 to current date.(15 months).

Fifteen months multiplied by 2 comes to 30 months. Now move the bulletin forward 30 months starting from June 06. If there was no retrogression the dates has to be in Dec 2008 or beyond. I strongly believe retrogressive dates are not correct. But why there was no big movement in last couple of months, not bcoz visas are not available, its still recovering slowly from retrogressive dates. At this time we cant rely on their acceleration or decceleration as seen in previous bulletins.

I'm pretty sure by OCT 2011 FY 2011 closes completely and huge number of visa will be available which has no direct relation to FY 2011 and the retrogression. Just wait for the big day when OCT 2011 bullein will be released, cut off dates will be somewhere in middle of 2009.

Currently i believe we are in Dec 2008 or beyond.

3 MONTHS 20 DAYS TO GO FOR OCT 2011 VB. :)

hi im just wondering - cause our cut off date is december 2010 - thats the time we filed for l130 f2a - since my husband is still a permanent resident.. he got denied when he applied for citizenship because his has drunk driving issues way back 2008 or 2009 -

i dnt understand that much - the dates of receiving a visa - cause as what i saw in the visa bulletin for f2a filers - by the month of november 2011 - they will be releasing july 2010 filers.. (correct me if im wrong) so in my own computation - and based on the gap of the no. of months (basically 2-3 months monthly) maybe by february or march 2011 - the visa for dec 2010 filers will be available..? i dont really know - please help me understand.. thank you...

the delhi consulate case does not give any idea about the priority date or the case completion date...

but there is some rule regarding the one year thing

"If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by email, telephone or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. In that case, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process."

Didn't you notice what is happening? Current PD is Aug 2007 and yet NVC is sending out letters of interview as far as feb 2008. So my theory is that the next official VB may not advance as much as we want but it would discreetly call for interviews those cases completed in 2010. The reason is maybe NVC is trimming the oversubscription that happened in 2010.

I am not referring to PD date but the date when your case is completed at NVC. May I know what's yours? I'm will be glad to know I am wrong.

In my opinion one year rule is something that petitioner is not contacting NVC wiithin a year the case will expire.
