Montreal - No appointments?

My fiance just called to say he got a letter from Montreal saying I could schedule an interview now. I haven't seen the letter yet, but that is not what I am worried about. I went onto the CSC Visa Information site and tried to book and appointment .... and it said "There are no available appointments at this time." I seriously can't believe this.

Has any one encountered this before or have any idea what is going on???

As a side note, Ive seen (on the same page) the "next available interview date" jump from 116 days to 6 days all in a week. Is it possible that the website is just wonky?

Might just be the possible shutdown at the moment. I just scheduled my interview at the beginning of the week and I keep trying to check if any earlier dates become available and it wasn't until the announcement that I could no longer find anything open at all.

Still no appointments available, even though they resolved the shut down issue last night. The website is moving super slow .. at a snails pace, so there must be a lot of people trying to figure out what is happening. I'm sure this whole ordeal has caused problems for a lot of people. My heart goes out to you all. I just hope things can get fixed soon so we can all move on with this process!!!

The agreement was negotiated on Friday night. I highly doubt they would fix the website on weekend. They will most likely get on it Monday.

Hang in there, your wait is almost over. Things are much brighter when your interview will be booked. I was relieved when I finally could book my interview, but now waiting for it is driving me nuts :)

Lucky you! Your appointment is so soon! I was wondering whether or not people's appointments were getting messed up because of the possible shut down. Im guessing yours is still on track?

I know what you mean though, interview is like the last step. I can't wait to have a date just so I can have some peace of mind!

Is rebooking easy? Do you know what is involved?

It is easy. You're able to check availability on the CSC website and reschedule at any time.

Since Summer is coming up---and staff will be on holidays, MAYBE they have limited the bookings???

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I dont know about "limited" bookings. The site is up and running again, but I could only find one date that had an available interview date .. May 2nd! Thats two weeks away, gotta step things up into high gear now.

Thats awesome that you got a date for May!! :). I just checked the site and it keeps saying that there are no appointments available. I know I can't book an appointment until I receive Packet 4, but I usually have no problem with seeing when the next available dates are :(. Weird o_O
