Other than military spending what do you propose we cut. To get serious about the budget cut we need to cut some of the funding to entitlement programs.

The looming gov't shutdown is not about entitlements. Not at all. There aren't any entitlements on the table for FY 2011 that Congress can't agree on. It's about Big Bird. The Tea Party crazies appear to think that not feeding Big Bird any longer will save this nation from financial collapse.

Families used to take care of the elderly. Now they just pass the buck off to someone else.

Why means test a program that we have paid into all our lives? That would make Social Security Insurance and Medicare Insurance nothing more than the welfare checks they give poor women to pop out babies. Why do you want to renege on your social contract just so that you can get a nicer car, or another bigger HDTV? Don't all seniors deserve what they are entitled to?
