If it makes you guys feel any better, when I asked two geneticists about that article and a "lazy gene" idea, they laughed at me. After laughing, one of them even shook his head and put it down on the table because he couldn't believe someone would even come to that conclusion.

Why is that a problem? We are all humans, after all.

Aren't we?

It's not a problem until you try to use human constructs as a basis for scientific research. If it doesn't exist outside of the human imagination it's not something that can be studied.

Activity versus inactivity can be studied; lazy versus industrious can not.

Lazy and industrious are value laden descriptions of inactivity/activity. Neither state needs a description and neither state is 'good' or 'bad'. They are just different and prove adventitious and disadvantageous in different types of environment. Social genetics is basically bullshit.

I think I'm done with the genes topic. It's frustrating trying to actually discuss it with people who don't completely understand. I don't have the patience or desire to explain it thoroughly enough that the lightbulb goes on for everyone.

What 'outrage' is this? It's not outrage, it's an attempt to explain why certain types of labeling ascribed to scientific study by journalists are nonsensical. Clearly you don't have the smarts to understand that (I mean, lord at least three people have tried in various different ways) I guess it's not your fault and I shouldn't laugh; it's more sad than anything but I am sure this is more grist to your mill that you know more than 'educated librul types. More fool you.
