NVC/Embassy - Essential or Non-Essential Govt Employees?

With the possibility of the US Gov't having a "shut down" where does the NVC and the Embassies fall - essential or non-essential staff? I am sure it is just decided by agency meaning that could be a combination of both non-essential and essential staff in these two agencies. Just wondering what vj members think or know about this issu. :whistle:

Not sure about NVC (probably the same) but Embassys empty of everyone other than essential people. No visas or interviews are given.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
