Just for fun...when is the next time you're going "home" to Canada?

I am now back in Canada for a few days. I can't believe Thursday is my two year anniversary of my interview Montreal yet I still feel like I'm coming home. yes.gif

You got there yesterday and I left yesterday. lol. I am exhausted but it was a great time. I did the Hippo Bus tour in Toronto with my visiting relatives. I highly recommend it. It was weird doing tourist stuff in what was basically my home town. My cousin (from England) kept asking me questions about different things and I guess I would give him a blank look. Finally he goes "I keep asking you things, but keep forgetting that you haven't been here in so long that you don't remember." lol

Of course, I got lost a few times. Things change so quickly. I went shopping for some items to bring back to the US that I can't get here. Ended up telling my husband that it was like shopping in the US. I would go to the places I would normally find them and they wouldn't be there. Or they no longer sell them. It's so good to be home. :luv:

So, anyway..... back to the original question. The next time I'm going "home" to Canada will be in July.

as of now it doesn't look like we are going to Canada in July.. ticket prices have almost doubled :(

:( Sometimes it's cheaper to fly to the nearest border airport then rent a car or take the bus.

From Newark to Toronto is airfare 300-350 bucks. I can drive there to Toronto from my place in North NJ in 7 hours..and that's including customs.

Well, I was thinking of going up to canada in the fall, but turns out we're going to end up moving in Jan (finally getting our own place, no more roommate!) BUT! I did find out my sister is coming for a visit in Sept! Now I just have to try to find a good time and some decent ticket prices for her.

yeah from Los Angles to Vancouver it is $750 for 2 people, at least that is what it was this morning I thought it would be more because it is usually a hundred or so dollars more then flying to Bellingham but not today.. to fly to Bellingham it is around $700 but I looked at flying out of another airport in the area and it was around $500.. we don't have the money right now though :(

it would take about 24 hours to drive form here to Chilliwack, BC and that is with hardly any stops etc..

Hoping to go for 5 or 6 days near the end of June to visit my Dad. We'll fly into Rochester and then rent a car to drive across the border and on to Kingston. The airfare is so much cheaper that way - can't believe it costs several hundred bucks just to fly across the lake to Toronto :P . Since we would need to rent a car and drive several hours regardless of where we flew into, the cheapest alternative -albeit the longest drive - is to Rochester. We're still trying to figure out the exact dates though - my husband has some priorities coming up at work that limit when we can leave and when we can return - and each week later I look at the prices go up by $100 each :( .

It's too bad they stopped the fast ferry service. :(

Today I paid $1129.00 return from Spokane WA. to Halifax N.S.

Going in a week! Can't wait!!! We are flying to Boston then driving to Quebec. Our flights were pretty cheap, 149$ there and back, direct flight!
