In April I went to Shoppers and I spent over $100.00! Eeek! I was disgusted at myself. haha

I was a bit worried too to use my letter, but getting into Canada I only showed my passport (no biggie) and coming back across at the Peace Bridge, they didn't ask me any more questions than normal! :)

Good to know. I always cross at the Peace Bridge as well. Last time I went back the CBP officer noted the expiry date on my card and asked if I had applied for a new card. When I told him I had my extension letter he just let me go, didn't even want to look at it.

I could spend $100 easily at Shoppers. helpsmilie.gif I miss SDM...still carry my Optimum card and get e-mails from them. In fact this Saturday there is a 20x optimum points promotion.

I still get Canadian e-news too! I could spend hours in Shoppers, no idea why. It's just like CVS....My Mom's best friend gave me all her old Canadian Living mags, so they're on my coffee table. It makes me "feel" like I'm in Canada at least! :)

Speaking of grocery stores, I always enjoy seeing grocery stores in foreign countries. Canada seems to have a lot more kind of cool seafoody things then I find here. Plus it's just totally different things there then here which makes it fun.

I know I always walk to the one grocery store when I visit and my parents are always baffled why the hell I'd go to a grocery store. They don't seem to get that stores in Canada are very different then they are here, including food types and styles...

When I moved I still had a couple of years on many of my magazine subscriptions. What a nice surprise when I found it they would honour them with no additional cost for postage to the US. I find looking at the advertisements and coupons "good only in Canada" make me feel at "home."

I am fairly certain most will ship it to you but if it is a new subscription it may be a lot more expensive than it would have been if you were still in Canada. Thats' why I was pleasantly surprised they honoured the remainder of my subscriptions without any postage surcharges.

Last year I think they had a quick, "clear up the leftovers" sale, and my Mom got flights for $25/one way. Talk about SWEET! If I get any more good deals, I'll let everyone know :thumbs:

We never fly, always drive from DC to Kitchener ON - bit long, but it would cost way more in flights for 3 people then it does to drive. We usually fill up the tank twice on our hybrid Highlander so not too bad.

Speaking of trips - I'm going back to visit for just 3 days starting Thurs afternoon - yay. it will likely be my last visit until Christmas.
