This May I'm driving from DC to Saskatoon! Staying for a month or so, then driving back! Just me and the dog as the wife is away. Then we are moving in August! So who knows when I will get back after that.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Im going may 5th for a weekend it will be a good 6 months since I poed. I have to go show off the belly then We will not go back till next year :(

DC to Saskatoon? WOW!!! That's quite the hike...how many hours?

Show off that belly canadiandggal!

Like 2100 miles!!! Will do it in 2 or 3 days! Then While home will drive to Calgary and Kamloops!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Does it count that I'm here now? :D Till Saturday...next time we're up, dunno. I'm to the point now that I don't really want to use every vacation day I have just to go back to Canada. I hate to say it, but it's kind of a drag. Not that I don't love being back here, but after a couple days, I run out of things to do. I'm thinking my family needs to take a turn and come down to visit me!

Have not gone back to Canada at all since I arrived here. Don't really have plans to go back at the moment either, I did however look at tickets recently and they would be almost 1,000 for my husband and I to travel back and visit my friends/family so that makes us want to travel even less.

I'm lucky that we live so close to DC so flights are reasonable.

I'm lucky that we live so close to DC so flights are reasonable.

I've convinced my immediate family to come down to our house for Christmas. Yay!

I read online a few weeks back that Air Canada was cutting back flying into DC. I think they cut out the Ottawa to DC route.

Airfares have gone up a lot. I used to be able to fly from DC to Stoon for around the $500 mark, now that same trip is in the 700-800 range!! Then pay for baggage.

I was there in early February (missed the blizzard that hit Chicago) and we'll be going back up May 20 to the 30; back in October for another 10 or 12 days. In between, my baby girl and a friend will visit us :D

April 13, 2009 - Welcome to the USA letter rec'd. PRC to be rec'd within 3 weeks.

April 16, 2009 - 2 yr GC rec'd in mail.

March 2, 2011 - Mailed in I-751 to CSC

March 4, 2011 - I-751 delivered to CSC

March 4, 2011 - NOA issued

March 12, 2011 - NOA received

April 14, 2011 - BIO Appt 5/6/11

May 6, 2011 - BIO done in 10 minutes...no re-takes this time :)

June 27, 2011 - Email rec'd "Status - Approved"

July 1, 2011 - 10 yr GC arrived

Phew - no kidding. I used to pay as little as $275-ish for a round trip from Toronto to DC (or the reverse). Now it's almost tripled and is regularly over $600....we can pay that for a whole trip for the family to drive up and back in gas...and gas is stinking expensive up here, Cdn's are paying their usual riduclous gas prices...it was @1.29 a litre a couple days ago
