Are you suggesting Glenn Beck and his followers ran off advertisers?

Beck, even with his smaller audience dwarfs his detractors.

Me? No, I am not suggesting that. It's a fact that you can read up about. Somewhere in mid 2009, some 40+ companies (including WalMart, P&G, BestBuy, CVS, Sprint, Radio Shack, Geico, Sargento and others) directed FOX not to air their commercials during Beck's program. And yes, he had a large audience which I pointed out in my post. It's just that with all those companies deserting the ad spots despite the large audience, FOX isn't making money off of that larger than average audience. And money is what it's all about.

Beck is atrocious. People should be embarrassed to watch his show, let alone declare him some sort of serious political philosopher. GTFO!

Political philosopher?? (has he ever watched Beck... once)?

Maybe you are you confusing him with your Idol Trotsky"

You don't think all those angry liberals writing and calling had anything to do with those companies withdrawing from Glenn Beck .....but still doing business with the Jerry Springer type shows?

You are right< it is all about the money.

Plenty of people quote Beck and seem take him seriously. If you don't, then good for you.

Yeah... like Noel Edmonds

Being taken serious does not equate into being a -political Philosopher.

Trotsky was taken serious.... he was a Political philosopher.

Oprah is also taken seriously, does that mean she is a Political philosopher?

I thought it mostly started after he made that insane (nothing new) claim that Obama

"over and over again" exposed himself as "a guy who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture. I don't know what it is..."

There's no need to label it by liberal or conservative is there?

You think these companies care about a few angry liberals when they can reach millions of viewers that are easily impressed and obviously easy to sell to? I mean, you're talking about a bunch of fools readily buying whatever garbage Beck is selling. Beck has simply crossed the line into the kind of territory (the land of hatred, fear and tin foil hats) that businesses prefer not to be associated with.

Here's a hint - I don't (and have never) taken Beck seriously. Why don't you ask someone who does take him seriously... like the OP..

So you concede, Beck might be on to even bigger things?

Rumor has it that he along with Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh are to be judges on Star Search.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Aren't you the one who just elevated him to Political philosopher?

Seems to me you take him serious, a lot more than I do.
