Congratulations. I hope you will be as happy with your Ukrainian bride as I am with mine. They are lovely ladies. Now, get the remaining items together quickly. She can get the final packets online or wait until the embassy sends them to her. But, don't wait.

Get your documents sent to her, have her get the police report completed and schedule an appointment at the embassy in Kiev. She will need a medical exam which is available in a couple of places in Kiev and that should be scheduled before her embassy appointment. So, if she lives a distance from Kiev, make sure she has money for transportation, hotel, food, etc for at least a couple of days in Kiev. She will need to pay an $8 overnight delivery charge for her visa to be sent to her home. It's required now, even if they live in Kiev.

Start making your plans because unless the NVC is slowing down, she could be in your arms in one month. I know because this happened to me. The embassy can schedule appointments online but she needs to be prepared with your final documents first. FedEx what you can but find out first whether her city has express mail services. You can check with FedEx or DHL International.

Yeah! I love it when another couple from Ukraine gets the approval! I just can't wait for it to be my turn. Plus, listen to 1HappyGuy....seems hes already done all the fun stuff at the embassy and knows what hes talking about! I tell my special lady to be ready, because when that approval comes...its all gonna happen fast! According the Kiev Embassy website, appointments are less than two weeks out...so almost as soon as they get the stuff from NVC you lady can have her interview! Man I am so excited for you!!! Thank you all... devilette, kitkat, uling, Barry, Gary - heck, I can't begin to thank all of you for the support and sharing that you have provided. "Worried" - you bet I was. More so by the self-imposed deadline to get our "daughter" enrolled here by the start of school. Well, the first day of school here in the Twin Cities was yesterday (the day I receive the approval news). What a coincidence.

The celebrating was very subdued last evening. I phoned a few friends, and it was a bit of the ho-hum on their part. Even my oldest son didn't seem to truly understand the huge news this was. People do not understand all we have been put through - the separation and loneliness, the frustrations, the fear of rejection...so many emotions to be finally released in to one big "WOW".

And now this morning the "WOW" has really hit me - not the happiness, but the sheer panic. I am so totally unprepared! And so the journey and adventure continues...

Again, thank all of you for sharing this wonderful journey with us!
