I was just curious if anyone has an experience similar to mine applying for another spouse after divorce of the first one. My ex and I were married 6 years before separation. He got his citizenship in 2007, but the marriage ended last year. Both my ex and current husband are from Pakistan, but my ex and I did DCF in Tokyo, Japan as he was on a student visa there. The embassy in Tokyo was AMAZING at helping through the process. Anyway, what are your thughts experiences?....

There should be no problem but i think they will investigate your case on a deeper level as it's not the first time you petition to a spouse from the same country, that's my opinion

Find a job you love to do, and you will never work another day in your life.

Shouldn’t be a problem, as long it is a genuine marriage. Nothing is perfect in life… I was married almost 13 years and now divorced and recently got married and have already filed a petition for my wife. Our marriage is genuine and we have nothing to worry and you shouldn’t worry either. Good luck!

I petitioned my ex in 1985 and 2009 my now husband was approved. I think with the 20 plus years betwen the petitions they didn't suspect anything bad.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I am in the process of sponsoring my third foreign spouse. My first wife passed away after eleven years of marriage, and I was divorced from my second foreign spouse after seven years of marriage. With my I-130 petition I included a letter explaining the circumstances and history of both marriages. Since I had children with both spouses, I also sent copies of their birth certificates. My petition was submitted in November, 2010 and I haven't received a RFE.

If you've had children, a copy of the birth certificate is clear evidence of a real relationship. If you have not have children, previous receipts and financial statements with both you and your ex's names should suffice.
