What can I expect now that the AOS (affidavit of support) fee shows PAID on the website? Will they send me instructions on what form I need to fill out for the AOS? If so, when? If they do not, what should I do now?

You should be able to print the bar-coded cover sheet now. So that's your first step. You print that.

Then you decide which form you have to fill out. Are you the sole sponsor? Do you make more than enough. Are you only using only your salary to show support? Then you can file the I854EZ form. If you need to show other assets, then you file I864. If you using co-sponsor, you file out I864. You co-sponsor if s/he lives in the same household fills out I864A. If another household, then I864 also. Then you gather last 3 years tax account or return transcript. You gather your most recent tax return. You gather your last six month's pay stabs. You gather copies of passport or citizenship certificate of the sponsors. Then you put everything together and mail it out to NVC along with the bar-coded cover sheet.

For the last 3 quarters, it has seemed faster to send off everything (AOS, IV) together in one mailing packet AFTER the IV fee bill has been marked 'paid'. Shaves about 3 weeks.

Oh - you'll need yer own forms, as well - expect NVC will not send you anything, if you wish to go fast:

DS-230 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

I-864 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3730.html

General NVC stuff - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html

OK, so I should send i-864 because I have a cosponsor and send AOS and IV packet together to save time, am I correct? Is it necessary for me to have the 3 years tax returns or just one, as my sponsor is showing most of the income and have asked him to submit 3 years (I am a full time student and only work part time and did not file taxes for 2009 because I did not work and in 2008 taxes I filed with my ex husband) About the 6 months pay stubs, is this necessary since we will show 2010 taxes? I was thinking just to submit paystubs for this year we are in, 2011 because 2010 income is already shown through the taxes. Thanks, sorry so many questions, just want to make sure everything is in order.

is the bar coded cover sheet the thing they sent with the fee? OK so just now confused on this part:

25. Federal income tax return information.

I have filed a Federal tax return for each of the three most recent tax years. I have attached the required photocopy or transcript of my Federal tax return for only the most recent tax year.

(Optional) I have attached photocopies or transcripts of my Federal tax returns for my second and third most recent tax years.

I filed in 2008 and 2010, but not in 2009 because I made no money,so would i still check that box stating I filed for the 3most recent tax years/ like i said, I am full time student working only part time, most income is coming from my cosponsor and he has all information for all 3 years...

if you paid online at the online payment portal -

GO BACK

Study any fee bill entry that is marked 'paid' - you'll see a 'thing to download' - and that's the coversheet.

IF you didn't pay online, I'm sorry, I'm clueless as to what you need or even what you got.
