ha ;)

Though I will say their own site if full of #######.

TABC agents do stings all the time in which they send in people who are of legal age and if the clerk doesn't ask for ID, they fine them because they 'looked' young.

I know of TABC agents going into restaurant bars and asking to see everyone's ID who's drinking alcohol as well. Establishments have been fined for 'legal' age drinkers not having an ID on them.

I'm not arguing the stated policy, I'm arguing how ignorant and arbitrary it is.

Let's say for example that a green card wouldn't be a basis for s state ID card. How could you ever get one. Yet, you pretty much have to show some kind of immigration document to get one. That state ID card is as good as gold to buy alcohol, but the underlying document/card that allowed you to get that ID card is not. Seems pretty backwards to me.

I wonder if anyone here has one of those class A federal issued drivers licenses, and if they are accepted?

I live in Texas with a hubby with a green card. I work for Walmart that has certain policies in place for selling alcohol.

What are their policies for ID?

Yeah I looked that up. Looks like they just require a nationwide records check.

They require a nationwide records check with any drivers license. There is no Federal drivers license. Truck drivers have a state issued drivers license like any other driver but with a class A and extra endorsements that can be added such as to drive tankers, Haz mat, duos and triples, etc.

Good thing they don't require that for Class C.

My wife has had a few problems in California using her greencard. I've been there and pushed the issue once or twice when they were using the "government issued ID" statement as it clearly is one. They always back down. To the OP, if it makes you feel any better I once went to purchase beer in Kansas with a Missouri ID. He tried to refuse it asking for another form of ID. I gave him one which he also refused despite the fact it had DOB and was technically also government issued. I became somewhat angry at this point as the entire store kind of turned in my direction, once the manager noticed he made the employee put the order through to get me out the door.

They do a nationwide records check for any and including a class C for any motor vehicle violations and anything else that can place a hold on issuing a license such as owning back support the same as a class A. The only difference on a class A that will need anything extra being done is if one has a haz mat endorsement. When the homeland security came into being they made every state require a felony check along with a fingerprint check to anyone wanting to keep their haz mat endorsement. Most truckers gave up their haz mat endorsement. There really is nothing special that has to be done between a class A or C except to get a class A in the first place one has to go to a school.

Apparently not in Texas. Or maybe other states dont report.

This I.D. fixation the US has about selling alcohol is completely moronic,I have been to a lot of places in this world and the USA is the only place i have seen that a 70 year old man is asked for identification before he can get his 6 pack,Its an absolute joke...I am almost 50 years old and have to show my I.D every single time, just yesterday a 70 year old man's beer was taken away from him at walmart because he didn't have his I.d with him,he said he was 70 and he looked older then that..this show me your I.d law here in the states is taken to an extreme, and is absolutely ridiculous.
