Keep this foolishness tucked away in your memory when the next elections come around for your rep and US Senators. No matter the party, they are all guilty of letting things get to this point.

I couldn't agree more. Thousands and thousands of visa applicants will get hosed because of this. In the end, the people will suffer because of their actions.

6/1/09 - 6/11/09-----> First meeting (Japan)

11/11/09 - 11/21/09-----> Second meeting (Japan)

2/7/10 - 2/14/10-----> Third meeting (Vietnam) (First trip to Vietnam)

4/1/10 - 4/11/10-----> Fourth meeting (Vietnam) (Second trip to Vietnam)

5/5/10-----> I-129F: NOA1

8/27/10-----> NOA2

12/20/10-----> Interview Date

Great. So what exactly are we paying the visa fee and AOS fee for? The ridiculous thing is while the tax due date remains the same but your refund won't arrive should the gov't shutdown occurs! Great job Uncle Sam.:devil::innocent:

Great point... If the visa fee ha already been paid, then it's a hosing for those awaiting an interview. Those awaiting noa2 are really screwd since they already shelled out to have a service provided. Much like if I bought a computer from best buy and had them set it up they said come back after 4 only to have a sign out saying closed indefinitely as a result of no$ to pay the employees.

:blink: ? This was HCMC consulate specific.... my cheese got moved again.... just because some posts were political in nature does not require the topic to be moved as the OP was not addressing the political aspect but the consulate / interview aspect...

Never question VJ organizer decisions. They may just exile you to the South Asia regional forum where no one will ever hear from you again.

I doubt you'd recognize what passes for pizza in Vietnam. :blink:

My wife says US pizza sucks. :blink: .. she likes that VN version. (wheres the barf smiley?).. I recall getting a seafood pizza in Hanoi a few years ago that had every kind of seafood possible on one of those infamous cracker like crusts... Mark actually turned me on to a Blue cheese pizza in HCMC that was really good...

My fiance told me that her K1 interview is for May 20. It is far away but do anybody here think that IF government shutdown happens, our interview will be changed for later or will it stay the same? I personally feel good about it because it already has been scheduled and is far away. What do you think?

Sent the I-129F petition to USCIS on Aug 20, 2010

I-129F Approved!!! Feb 7, 2011

Returned P3 to Consulate Mar 7, 2011

Interview Date May 20, 2011
