Just my advice to anybody going for interviews, bring chat logs...they apparently, IN SOME CASES, want to see the context of the communication between the couple....(I know this isn't for all, and some never get asked to see chat, some do. In our case, we believe it was the thing that put the CO on the side to deny)...see my posts in the "chat with the casa consulate" thread regarding what the CO said about chat logs. I think we are the EXACT proof of why you need to know why you are denied the first time, so you can counter those flags at the second interview. Just getting married is never a "slam dunk." (we knew this, but took our chances anyways) Apparently, their issues with us weren't resolved 15 months after the first denial, even though we thought we knew what they needed to see, and me visiting morocco 2 more times.

Let me tell you, the day of the denial, hubby and I were hysterical and irrational. Was horrendous. The next couple of days were ok, since we had a "plan" in place, to try to get him a second interview. Then the anger set in, and I was really not pleasant to be around the last few days. Today, I think the acceptance is sinking in, since the consulate has said the package has left for the US already, and my senator saying they won't make any more inquiries to the consulate because we need to wait for the file to get back to the US. Hubby is still in the angry phase. He is not ready to accept what has happened, and us being in these two different phases is not making for pleasant convo these past 2 days....but, he will soon accept it, and we can move onto our next course of action.

I'm bummed our outcome has scared some of you guys....just be as prepared as you can be, and stay calm!

I have really started to worry about this. My fiance and I rarely use any kind of chat, but we talk on the phone and on Skype every day for hours. I am really concerned now that when we do get to that stage, the CO will want to see chat records and we will have none. I know the Cairo embassy is not the Casa embassy, but it's still a high fraud country and I'm sure they're picky about evidence of a relationship. Thank you so very much, Tany, for keeping us educated along the way as you go through what can only be a horribly trying period in your life. Know that we are all behind you wishing you the very best of luck.

We brought phone records and text records. They didn't want those, they only wanted to see chat. We sent over 800 pages of chat with our k1, and that seemed to be a problem with the C0...if you search the mena forum around january 2010, you can find my thread about our first denial, and see what happened then. C0 asked specifically about chat logs. Hubby said we didn't have them. She then asked again, "are you sure you don't have any at home? Because you can bring them in". Hubby realizes in hindsight he should have said YES!! And let me gather what chat we do have to give to the consulate. He didn't realize how big a deal this would be. But its too late now. I can only hope to help others through our experience.

Tany is absolutely right. If you have chats definitely bring them. If you don't don't necessarily panic. We did not chat on the computer. We talked on phone and via text. I sent my cell phone bill which recorded incoming and outgoing text numbers and his incoming calls from morocco. They DID ask about chat logs and asked why we didn't use the computer for talking. My husband indicated it was more convenient for us to talk by phone and they accepted that. So if you don't have chat logs be prepared to explain why you don't.

It was a denial. The first thing the CO said to my fiance was "I don't care for your package, really I don't like it" That was it, but he continued with the interview for 1 1/2 hours. They gave him a piece of paper, and asked him to write down every place I have worked for the past 5 years, and all of my supervisors names. He also asked more about my sisters and their families than about our relationship. they wanted him to write down where my nieces and nephews went to school, all of thier birthdates, exact dates, and wanted to know why my younger sister had a baby out of wedlock. My fiance only knew about my last 3 jobs over the last 4 years, and only knew my current supervisor, not the others. Noone in my family could ever answer that. Anyways, he also didn't like that we met on a web site, I think he didn't like my fiances answer, which was he googled, and found this site, and after signing up, he saw the people that were online now, and saw my face. He didn't even know I was in america, he just emailed, and we started talking. Anyways, the CO had his mind made up from the beginning. He said we were rehearsed, bla bl bla. He also said that he will send the petition back to USCIS, and if they reapprove us, then he will get the visa. First, I am going to call the consulate in the morning, and try try try to get him another interview. I have contacted my senator today, and hopefully they can try to get another interview. If he gets another one, I will go to be with him at the interview, even though I can't go in. If that fails, we have plans to get married there. Just wanted to let you guys know how it went, and GOD is with us. We agree that nothing will keep us apart. He said if we have to fight another year or two, we will be together. Thanks for the well wishes....let the REAL fighting begin!!!

I found this post from back in January 2010

How could anyone answer these questions, this is insane

I know! The questions are pretty horrible and after reading what they said in the chat the other day, sometimes they're specifically designed to trip you up. Like... He shouldn't need to know *all* that info and if he does, that makes it suspect. I'm going to tell my fiance to just not stress over it and answer what he can, when that day comes. It'll still be awhile for us. Just makes me crazy thinking about the denials in Morocco...

They did look at photos of us. He also had my car insurance policy, showing he was on it. Had our wedding photos, and other random photos of our time together. He had flight stubs, and a copy of my passport to show I had just been there in january. He had house phone and cell phone/text records. He had a copy of his Icall account to show the number we bought for our use. Had the wedding invite for my sisters wedding. I think that was it...but she only wanted to see chat logs and pics.

Yeah just being who he is, and answer questions honestly, Cairo is a different consulate than Casa certainly they won't ask him for a specific details about relatives' addresses

seems like you both have done what it takes to prove your relationship, i hope you can work it out, i don't know what your next step should be but Good Luck for you both

Tany, I don't know why but I have a suspicion that they have an issue with you two or just your husband. It's like they knew they were going to deny you even before he walked in. Chat logs or no chat logs. I'm wondering if he has anything that they found on him from the social networking site. You'd be amazed at what they can pull up on people. To deny a CR1 is huge stuff as they just see your relationship as pure fraud.

I'm so sorry you are having to go through all of this. (F)

Tany, thanks so much for sharing your experience. I wish you and your hubby continued strength to forge ahead. I am so sorry for the setbacks you two have been dealt. Don't know how you keep on keeping on. Here I am not even yet to the NOA2, and I'm weak in the knees with worry and apprehension and negativity and doubt! Good for you guys for rising above this unfair system and keeping your love and relationship uppermost in mind. Your eyes on the prize!!! So much of this visa process is not fair by any means, and I'm sorry you're going through it. It's unbelievable the questions they ask. I don't even remember names and dates, and for my guy to know these things?! I think it's ridiculous. May things turn around for you both and soon you can enjoy your lives living together as one. Thanks again for your good advice, and best of luck and strength for you two to continue on til you win!

p

I completely agree. I think they found something from somewhere because they definitely do do that.

They are able to pull every account and email based social accounts, chat accounts, prior dating accounts... you name it

They did look at photos of us. He also had my car insurance policy, showing he was on it. Had our wedding photos, and other random photos of our time together. Because they dont care about paper proof. They want proof you chat every day and talk every day. Chat logs are essential and they want to see them as well as phone bills..

I still think there is something else going on that they found.. and it might even be something he never deleted or something really innocent.

I personally think they decide what they want to do before you ever hit the door

Do they actually read the chatlogs that you bring while you wait to be interviewed and look at the other documents?
