Hello Everyone,

I am so happy I found this sight. As everyone here knows, this is a very stressful and painful process. I had no idea when I fell in love and decided to go to Turkey to marry my wonderful finance that it would take this long to get him to America. Rapid Visa informed that this would be a long process and I burst into tears. I still didn't have any idea how stressful and frustrating this would be. But I do want to say that everything so far has happened exactly like Rapid Visa told me that it would. Of course, the more bad stories I hear, the more afraid I become that I may have made an error on my application or forgot to sign it, or some other tiny mistake that might make me have to wait longer to get my husband to America.

I love hearing the good stories and it does help to hear the bad stories so that we won't repeat the mistakes of others. I will share all the information that I can to help others.

I did recently find out that my K-3 application will probably be turned in a CR1 application. If anyone has had this experience, I would love to hear your story.

Good Luck to everyone. May God Bless us all.

Terry

Hi Terry and Umit,

First Welcome to VJ. I think Umit, you wrote me and I mentioned that you and Terry are applying for the IR-1/CR1, so you want to change that on your profile. Have you updated your Timeline on there yet? Also, what is Rapid Visa? Never heard of it?? You can follow your USCIS case status on the official website http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis. And here is more info on the spousal I-130 (same as IR1/CR1) http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/IR1_and_CR1_Immigrant_Visas

Expect a very realistic time frame of 5+ mos and I can tell you that some of our AmeriTurk friends have waited 7 mos, and are still awaiting their interview date for an IR-1/CR1. Everybody waits. It does help to keep busy, keep praying and have due diligence with patience.

Hi Terry,

My husband applied for my K-3 July 2010. I am Canadian born and still residing in Canada. We are still waiting. We have no appointments. Plan to be separated for at least a year. I keep hearing the 5+ months repeated and yet I haven't found anyone yet who made it within that timeline. Long story short, there is no reason for the US to be impeding my immigration, and yet they are in no hurry to accommodate us. My husband and I are now planning to spend our first anniversary separated and alone. Please understand, no one told us this would happen, and I want to save you the surprise and heartache of finding out later.
