While waiting for NOA2

Hi there! I was wondering is there is somthing we can/should be doing while waiting for our NOA2 to be prepared for the next steps so it goes quikly!

Is there forms to fill out or information we'll need later?

When did you file? For long how now? Yes you can now start gathering some documents needed like your BC, cenomar, nbi. Take note that the last two mentioned should be recent prior to your interview.

Yes, there is something that you can start doing now. Gather everything that you'll need for the interview. The steps are listed on the K-1 (I'm presuming that's what you're filing for) guide. Click here and scroll down to just under where it says to create a VJ Timeline.

Yes, they should be recent. In fact, the CENOMAR is only good for 6 months. I'm not sure how long the NBI is good for, but I would imagine that it's the same amount of time as the CENOMAR. Your fiancee will also need to make sure that his/her passport is valid and has enough time left on it before it expires.

We filed at the end of october 2010.So we're at the 5 month mark

Could you tell me what BC, Cenomar, and nbi all stand for? Excuse my ignorance.

BC= birth certificate

CENOMAR is a Certificate of No Marriage but I think it's only required in the Philippines? I don't know what NBI is...

If it takes a little while to get, you'll want to look into getting a police check done for all the places you lived since you were 16.

Where are you filing from? Some countries have slight variations on what needs to be submitted before or during the interview. Your profile doesn't give much information about which consulate will be processing your paperwork, but the your regional forum might be the best place to go since folks who have gone through your consulate can give you the clearest answers.

He's right. Your profile is very incomplete. I know the moderators of this site would also ask you to create your VisaJourney Timeline since it aids others in trying to determine how long their visa applications might take.

To the OP,if you filed in October 2010, you should be watching out for your approval already right about now, if you're filed in CSC that is. We filed 1st of November and got our approval already.
