Update: I did my walk-in biometrics two weeks early at Buffalo, NY, today. The lady who was working there gave me a hard time at first, but then took my biometrics while saying I should have kept my original appointment and that I was jeopardizing my application by doing it early without officially rescheduling.

I think she is full of it. If it were really a problem, she wouldn't have taken my biometrics. What do you guys think? Her take was that if you come in early, and then your appointment date comes around and you don't show up, they might think that you abandoned your application. This makes no sense! If they already took my biometrics, how can they think I am abandoning my application?

Anyway, this adds to my belief that USCIS is a large living breathing monstrosity that eats puppies for breakfast. In other news, I requested an expedited advanced parole based on the condition that not having one will cause "extreme financial hardship to a business or an individual." This was the closest I came to meeting one of their listed conditions, based on the fact that if I can't travel for work in June, my boss will be most displeased and possibly fire me, a.k.a., extreme financial hardship! (though quite honestly having to pay their friggin application fees again is more of an extreme financial hardship)

Filing I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131

Day 01 - March 18th: Received by USCIS (Signed for by "CHYRA")

Day 33 - April 20th: Received 4 NOAs via text and email

Day 34 - April 21st: Checks cashed

Day 38 - April 25th: Received 4 NOAs in the mail

Day 41 - April 28th: Received Biometrics letter for May 13th

Day 42 - April 29th: Called to request expedited AP

Day 45 - May 2nd: Walked in for Bio at Buffalo, NY

Day 47 - May 4th: Expedite request for AP denied (email)

Day 49 - May 6th: Contacted Senator's office for help with AP expedite

Day 56 - May 13th: Senator's office contacted USCIS for AP expedite

Day 56 - May 13th: Received Initial AOS Interview Request! (set for June 13th)

Day 57 - May 14th: AP and EAD approved via email (notices mailed out on May 5th and May 11th resp.)

Day 57 - May 14th: AP+EAD combo card received in the mail!!

Day 87 - June 13th: AOS Interview! Approved and Card production ordered

Day 94 - June 20th: Card in hand!

That's complete BS. Sooo many people do walk-in biometrics, it may or may not speed up the process, but it definitely doesn't harm it :)

MBH, I agree. I have a suspicion that some lazy biometric takers don't like to have more work lined up for them. Anyway, I was in Buffalo applying for a Canadian Visa so I figured I would try, as its an hour+ away from home!

Hey! Just do a walk-in, no need to call! If they ask why, just show proof that you cannot make it in that particular day

Hi everyone! I just joined since I noticed that there were people freaking out about not receiving an NOA. I just wanted you to know that I received my text/email NOAs after 33 days. I called them at 31 days and was told to wait another 15 days. So, the trick is to be patient. It can take 3 days, or it can take more than a month. Worrying will get you nowhere!

On another note, I need to leave the country on June 5th for work. Does anyone know how to expedite the Advanced Parole process? I've been told I should call them after I receive my biometrics appointment.

Thanks for the encouragement. We filed on 4/19 (it was received on 4/21) and I was starting to wonder. Cash hasn't been checked, no emails or texts... But we will sit tight and take encouragement in the fact that we are waiting together.
