Oh wow, I took the easy way out and just redid it.. Goodluck and hope you get it soon :)

Hello Messybrownhair,

I read you got a RFE because they lost your medical? Did they specifically say that in the RFE notice? I got a RFE that reads:

Submit a Properly completed and signed Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record for the applicant on Form I-485 (all pages of Form I-693 must be the same revision date) The Medical examination MUST be conducted by a civil surgeon who has been designated by the USCIS. The medical must be issued less than one year prio to the filling form date of I-485.

Medical Examination using the 06/05/08 revision date, the medical must be conducted on or before 12/31/09

Medical Examination using the 10/14/09 revision date, the medical must be conducted between 10/14/09 and 07/21/10

Medical Examination using the 02/25/10 revision date, the medical must be conducted on or after 02/25/10

Medical Examination using the 07/20/10 revision date, medical must be conducted on or after 07/20/10

I did send my medical with my application, so I'm not sure if they lost it or if they just want me to do it again. I don't know what's going on. My medical was done in Feb. 2011, and I sent it on May 2011. It's not a year old, only 3 months old...Not sure if I should contact my doctor to get a new medical, or if there was something missing or wrong on mine. I think that if there was something wrong they would had said so, right? Any ideas?

Thanks

UGH. IM SO SORRY!!!! I can't believe this keeps happening??? Whyyy?????

Mine said something like this:

Request for Initial Evidence (I-485)

This office is unable to complete the processing of your Application without additional information. Please submit the information requested below.

NEW FORM I-693: The applicant is required to submit a new Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, that is properly completed and signed. The newest version of Form I-693 includes the medical information as well as the vaccination record. Under new agency guidance, applicants 2 years of age or older are required to either have a tuberculin skin test or a new blood test performed.

The applicant either did not initially submit Form I-693, or he/she submitted Form I-693 that indicates his/her medical exam was conducted on or after June 01, 2008. As such, the applicant must submit a fully completed and properly signed Form I-693.

There's more but it was talking about vaccination requirements from the CDC.. which is weird because I have had two different civil surgeons and a doctor from the health dept all say that I had complete shots so I don't know what else they could possibly want from me.

I called them up and basically asked coz I was so confused, and basically they wanted the TB skin test yada yada yada.. I asked how could that be coz I had a medical from the Philippines and I did an X-ray, and they said well its not on record. There was a civil surgeon who charged less than $200 for the whole new physical so what the hell.

I just sent it in last week and it's now under review today. I REALLY HOPE THEY ARE HAPPY NOW, I mean I seriously. What a nightmare

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Jeezus they seem to be losing loads of these medicals! I am just glad we decided not to get the I-693 and take our chances with just the CS medicals from Ireland.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried disputing these with the USCIS or try getting them to pay for the CS visit re-do?

Someone on VJ said that another vj member spent months disputing this and eventually they "found" it, but they lost so much time! I don't know if its worth it.. certainly not for me..

Wow, yeah that definitely wouldn't be worth it! I just hope they get it together soon and stop losing people's medicals.

This doesn't look like lost medical RFE. Like I replied in the other thread, I think that the CS you went to used an expired I-693 form. If you look at the top of the first page of I-693, you will see that there is an expiration date and there's also revision date on the bottom of every page. Look at the copy that CS gave you and if the form is expired or revision date is before 7/20/10, then it is CS's fault and they shouldn't charge you again because it was their mistake!

I thought the same...The thing is that my CS didn't give me a copy of the whole form. They made a copy for themselves and gave me a copy of the vaccination report page only. And on the bottom of that page it says Rev. 07/20/10, so I assume that all the rest of the form had the same date. But I'll go to her office today and ask to take a look at the copy she has. If it has the Rev. 07/20/10 on all other pages, I really don't know what the problem is then...It has to be that they lost it...Confusing... :(

Just my little 2 cents. I did receive, or my wife did receive an RFE for medicals as well, I was able to confirm, that the SC used the wrong edition of the form. My K2 daughter who did medicals at the same time was accepted, as she had a new version of the I 693. So my CS agreed that they will redo for no charge. I think that is the case of most RFE's regarding the medicals. Please recheck before you do new medicals.

I also got an RFE for income, even though my income was enough. I failed to submit a job letter and paystubs. I did send Tax Transcripts. Hopefully, we should be okay now, once I send them off.

We did get her biometrics done on 6/7/2011

And on the bottom of that page it says Rev. 07/20/10, so I assume that all the rest of the form had the same date. But I'll go to her office today and ask to take a look at the copy she has. If it has the Rev. 07/20/10 on all other pages, I really don't know what the problem is then...It has to be that they lost it...Confusing... :(

It could still be an expired form. Ask them to check the date on the top of the first page where it says "Expires: xx/xx/xxxx".

Got my EAD/AP in the mail today. Good Luck to everyone else

Congrats! :)
