Hmm.. I have never heard of that happening. I am guessing they missed my RFE? Either way I am not believing my EAD was approved until I actually see it. There's still a chance that the actual production of the card might still be stalled until my RFE is processed. We'll see!! Lol I'll just have to update you guys.. :)

Edit.. Shouldn't the notifications go like this: EAD/AP production ordered, then approval? Is that how it works? Or the other way around?

The RFE you received is for the AOS process, not EAD/AP; which are completely separate evolutions. If USCIS is satisfied with your response to the RFE, you will see the welcome letter and GC in about 2-3 weeks or less.

As an aside, you give great advice on this forum, which is very much appreciated. Best of luck in Grad School.

Oh gosh I hope so, that would be so exciting! I got both card production and approval notices last week so I hope it arrives this week! Funny thing is that I'm not home right now, I'm spending 2 weeks with my relatives so I won't get to see it. But we live with my in-laws so I know they'll get it. :) Ahh now if only I could have both the GC and EAD waiting for me when I return on the 18th that would the dream :)

Did they use the pic taken at biometrics or the 2x2 you sent? My picture at biometrics was absolutely horrid! Lol

Hey, to those who got RFE's.. did you receive some kind of NOA1 to know that they received it? Was it by mail or just on the USCIS site? And how long does it take? Just wondering how this works.. Just confirmed that it was delivered this morning so I'm back in the game now..

Yeah we got a NOA saying they received it. We sent it express mail so within two days we had the NOA. I am hoping that since we got an RFE it means they were at least looking at our packet and that we might see some action soon. :innocent: DH is dying to start working!

Ahh great that's good to hear. :) Hope to hear something soon then. I mailed it Friday and it was received 8:30am today. I would say your RFE shouldn't affect your EAD at all, and just count when your 60 days is and you should be hearing something around that time.. I got approved in 57 days :)

The VJ estimate on EAD approval was pretty spot-on for me... They estimated it would be approved June 1-8 and it was true! :)

That would be brilliant if our estimate turns out to be accurate. I am so glad this part isn't crazy long like the K-1 was!
