AOS April 2011 filers!!!!!!

Got my NOA1 for AOS, EAD, and AP... Biometric sched is on June 14, I can just walk-in earlier right? coz it's the day before my hubby's exam....I don't want to hassle him at all... Anyone here from Guam who does that?

Some offices alow it, some don't. You can try and if they don't let you in, you can still go on the 14th. Good luck!

I did! Actually, what i planned was an infopass appointment and have my biometrics done early because it's taking the USCIS a while to send my biometrics appt. letter but the day before my scheduled infopass, i got the bio letter so i walked in just the same and wasn't able to use my infopass appt. Just go there early morning, be the first one in line, it didn't take that long for me to finished it. Don't worry the lady administering it is a pinay and she was nice. Take off your rings too.

Went for biometrics at Varick street office today!! (I didn't do walk-in)

Got there about 30 minutes before my appointment time, but they didn't say anything.

It was very fast!!!! In and out, total of 10 minutes or maybe less.

They lost my medical.. Bummer!

I have an appointment this Thursday and they said I can get the results on Friday. They charged me $200 so I'm not too disappointed.

Just checked my status online.... it said that they've mailed the notice that my I-131 application has been approved. It is usually like this? I thought nothing would happen till the biometrics was done, so it was a bit surprising to me.

Everything else (I-130, 765, and 485) is still at initial review. Hope things will go forward now that i've done biometrics....

Hi guys!

Does anyone know for sure that the RFE stops the AOS and the EAD, or just the AOS process? On the USCIS webby to check the status, the one for AOS is under RFE but the one for EAD is still under review. I know the website isn't reliable all the time though.

Unfortunately, everything stops. EAD is dependent on your eligibility to adjust status, and so if you have an RFE, you aren't eligible. Once you send it back everything should resume though

That sucks! How about you try to contact your congressman/senator office? I've read of cases where congressmen got involved and then USCIS found the "lost" medical. I would definately try that first!

I know.. I guess I'll try but I'm worried it would take too long.. I need my GC to go to graduate school this fall so I'm worried about the timeframe.. what do you suggest?

Well in that case, I suppose it would be best if you just get a new medical and send it back asap in order to not delay your processing even further. It could take a while before a congressman would get an answer from them so if I was you I would probably just do a new medical and get it over with. Good luck!

somewhere on this site there is someone who had the medical lost and had a guide on what you need to do to get the medical found i just for the life of me cant remember who it was!

How did you know that they lost it? Maybe you can call St. Luke's and try if they can send a copy to the immigration?

Oh btw we did the walk-in this aftee for the biometrics, I was able to do it... hmm What should I do next?

Okay, I called up the doctor to move my appointment to today, and to do the TB skin test. I get the results on Friday and I can send it then! YAY!

hey mbh, i contacted my state's senior senator (NY) for help with expediting the AP, they had a web form set up for all the details and i called them too. They were able to contact USCIS within a week and had a response in about 3 days. Ironically though, I got my AP the day they contacted USCIS.

Having you pay $200 for their mistake is a little ridiculous. I would suggest you contact your senator first, since your timeline doesn't seem too urgent. Here's the contact page for all senators: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm.
