Yeah, it is confusing and I thought it meant that it was transferred to a local office because of how they worded it but I was told that it actually means "received" (by CSC).

We received the following regarding our receipt on the website, even though our address has not changed.

"On May 4, 2011, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent."

CIS made a note of it, but it makes no sense as the address is good and it should have been delivered. Will this affect the processing time?

Maybe they made a mistake while entering your address into the system or something so it looks like they don't have the correct address. It certainly can affect processing as you won't be able to receive biometrics letter. You should call them and make sure they correct it.

I agree with Missicy. They were either trying to mail you the NOA1 hardcopies or the biometrics letter and if it was returned, I have a feeling they will put it on hold until you settle the address. Give them a call so you can sort it out. Sorry you had to go through this, I doubt the error was on your part. Hope you get the letters back soon so you can go on with your process.. I am really hoping that all April filers will have biometrics appointments scheduled by the end of the month :)

Finlay after waiting 34 days since we sent it, we received acceptance Confirmation via email and text with Receipt Number. They still haven't cashed our checks, but at least we can check our status on uscis web page.

That's great! They should be cashing the check today or tomorrow :)
