I am too lazy to read the guides, and the instructions don't help. It appears that the form does not realize not everybody that fills the form out fits the form.

Part 7. #######? No, she didn't take any trips outside the US, but she lived somewhere outside the US during that five years, before she arrived in the US.

Part 8. G. I figured that one out, but they could have worded that question better.

Yeah, wherever you see 5 just substitute 3. The form is kind of a one size fits all and since there are more 5 year applicants than 3 year applicants everything is geared to them. The instructions, however, do provide the information that if you are applying based upon a 3 year marriage then you provide 3 years worth of documents (taxes, information, etc.).

I really recommend the Citizenship Flash Cards as a great study tool for the exam, btw :) . This is also going to be the easiest and probably fastest part of your whole immigration journey - you might even begin to see some signs of humanity in the USCIS staff! :P

Good luck :)

Thanks Kathryn. We appreciate the well wishes. She is pretty good on the practice tests.

Three new USCIS directors and still haven't corrected that, they asked us how many days was my wife out of the country in the last five years. Used that days between dates calculator, was 416 days. That is what they asked, that is what they got. Can't argue with you if that is what they ask.

We are close. Even with the tax transcripts padding the application, it looks so minimal. She needs to sign the cover letter, application, and fill out a check. I hope she got the passport photos today, or tomorrow, or next week. No deadline, right?

They didn't use those lovely passport photos I took of my stepdaughter, after all, I am trying to sell her so another guy will support her. Instead they used mug shots of her they took at her biometrics. But they still tell you to submit those photos, guess if you don't, will reject your application. Also charge you an extra five bucks for those photos, but no refunds if unsatisfied.

Sending in your application is a commitment, have to do what, when, and where you are told until its over, and may have to drive an extra 1,350 miles like us if you don't live across the street from your nearest field office. Then if you sign up for that monthly progress report, someone will always be a ahead of you, giving you a complex as to why you are not in the lead.

Well, wasn't a total waste of 19 cents to have Walgreens print out a 4 by 6 with six photos, used two of those for her passport.

VJsheesh...you are a NOOB!

Brother, good luck on your N-400. Yesterday AAm passed her citizenship interview. She's now an American Citizen!

I have to agree with what Kathryn said, it did seem like the naturalization process was the easiest step...and the fastest. We sent in AAm's app the first week of Janauary...so it only took 100 days or so...

Blessings! M

Thanks Brother Mark. We have had good luck up to this point. ROC was a breeze. Knock on wood, this should be no problem, and we can be finished with the immigration process. We only ran into one employee with an attitude, and that was a counter-person at the Old Customs Building in San Francisco for the AOS interview. But the rest of the staff has been courteous and helpful. Marie has had no complaints so far.

Can find a teenager close-by ? Pay some monies or cook some food?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
