You may need to have a DNA test done for the baby to prove that the USC parent is in fact the parent. I have read more than once on Visa Journey that DNA testing was required to prove who the parents are.

No it won't help- not being callous, but having a baby together only shows you had sex, not that you have a bonafide relationship. The only way a baby really affects the visa process is that there is one more person to count for the affidavit of support.

:D yes you are right but as you can see on my post, I said I just GOT my baby's CRBA and her US passport also TODAY. The question was - if having a baby with my fiance(the petitioner) helps for giving most likely an approval of a K-1 visa during the interview at the consulate office?.. :)

 nice answer. straight and direct. :P thanks much! was just thinking maybe the CO would give most likely an approval for a K1 visa since its obvious that me and my fiance wants to be reunited in the US not just for us but also for our baby's sake.. and btw thanks for your other replies too on my previous contents before :) sorry I haven't got a chance to say thank you before..

This is another "not to be callous" answer...

The baby is now a US citizen. It can travel to the US anytime. The consulate doesn't have to give you a K1 visa in order for the baby to come to the US.

There's a common misconception in some countries that having a baby together will help to get a visa, either fiancee or spousal. Some people are convinced that it's practically mandatory to have a baby. It's simply not true. There are many people who are on their second or third attempt at getting visa, while their US citizen child is already two or three years old and growing up in the beneficiary's country.

My wife heard those stories from many people who told her that she MUST have a baby if she wants to get a visa. One person was adamant, and swore that NOBODY had ever gotten a fiancee visa at the consulate in her country unless they were either pregnant or had already delivered the baby. Besides being ludicrous, statements like that defy logic. If all it took to clinch a visa was squeezing out a baby then every green card scammer in the world would happily do it.

The consular officers are well aware of these rumors, and they're not going to be swayed by the fact that you have a child. In fact, the odds are far higher that it would have a negative impact on your case. Some consulates won't issue a visa if the applicant is pregnant, and will insist they give birth first. Many will insist that the CRBA process be completed before they'll issue a visa - I have a friend who is traveling to Vietnam this week to start the CRBA process for his daughter. His fiancee had her interview last month, and was given a blue sheet telling her to come back with the CRBA and baby's US passport. There have even been cases where the CRBA had already been processed and approved, and a DNA test was ordered at the K1 interview. There was even a case here on VJ not long ago where a DNA test was ordered when the K1 applied for AOS here in the US. Apparently, a relative of the US citizen petitioner had contacted USCIS accusing his new bride of having a boyfriend back in her home country (Canada), and stating that her boyfriend was the "real" biological father of the baby.

In spite of all that, I've never heard of one case where there was any concrete evidence that having a child actually helped.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

If the child is already a US citizen, why would the child be involved in the K1 visa process? That seems very strange.

If nothing else, having a child shows that you met in person. :-)

We have lots of photos showing us together with our new baby with my extended family, his extended family and friends. I do realize that I might have an advantage because I, the mother, am the US citizen.

Were you there for the birth? Do you have photos of you with your new baby and fiancé?

Good luck!

Thank you for the reply. My question was if having a baby together would help me to get MOST LIKELY an approval for the K1 visa? Cos I think its obvious that we wanted to be reunited in the US not just for us as couple but also for the welfare of our baby.

I am not asking if the CO will issue me a K1 visa inorder for my baby to travel to the US.

I was just thinking that the CO might think that we want to be reunited in the US also for the baby's sake and therefore will give me a higher chance of getting the K1 visa. He didnt made it to be here on the exact day when I gave birth cos the timing wasn't good plus he's on active duty in the military but he came here like 2 weeks after I gave birth. Yep!-we have lots of photos together with our baby. :)

NO, having a baby with the petitioner will not increase the chances of the visa being granted.
