Hard times in the waiting

Last year I visited Ethiopia again with intentions of asking this amazing woman to marry me. She of course said yes and upon my return I began the process. With me working full time and going to school full time it took me longer than expected to file. Finally in November I filed and we received our NOA 1 on December 2. We have not heard a thing from Immigration as of yet and today I thought that the 5 months had be past on April 2 and was told different. This has been hard on my beautiful lady all of this waiting. I did return in Febuary to spend my bday and vday with her. I thought it would help by sending in new info and pictures of us together and my bday party she had for me and I was told by immigration unless they ask for it don't send it.

I guess I am asking has anyone else dealt with the frustrations of this waiting with your fiance?

Thank you

Fisher

you are four months in the process so i guess you have a little more waiting to do. sad to say, but this process is really a trying time for famailies and relationships. she's probably getting frustrated like the rest of us but you have to assure her that this is just a little time to wait, but after this journey you'll have your lifetime together.just ask her to be patient it's actually not as long as we think, i can't believe it's been five months already since our first noa1! you guys just hang in there and i wish you the best of luck.

Very well said and I agree. Majority of us here are patiently waiting for NOA2. We know how you feel, trust me. This is quite a long journey but worth it in the end. Hang in there!! :)

Realistic expectations are important. Don't know how you calculated five months from December 2 to April 2 but I'd get a new calculator for the rest of the process. In the meantime, study the guide for your next steps and learn the process. Read more than you post, is the way to do that. Now is the time to download and study the I-134 and its instructions, so you're ready with your affidavit of support.

I know it's hard, have sometimes the day seems like so long, just because your are missing your love so much. But do you know what, always remember is a little wait compared to the beautiful story you guys are building together. Have people that wait their entire life to find who they really love, so all of us in this journey are already lucky. And when you receive your NOA 2 time flies and you have so much to do. Always think positive, the love is strong enough that can go trough this easily. Been with someone we really love is worth this little wait. And this wait help all of us in some point, it make us to learn how to be more patient and stronger.

Good luck in your process!

The estimate that is given in your timeline is a processing time of June. So, you still have more waiting to do. Yes, it is hard, super hard to be away from your loved one. However, try to stay positive and focus on positive changes to your home and life in anticipation of welcoming your fiancee.

Best wishes! (F)

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

Hard times waiting...yes. It has been a year :crying:

Hi there...my name is Rahel..and I'm really need some input since I see you've gone through thee process already, my situation is this, my fiancee lives in Ethiopia, I love in the U.S. and I visited him alreeady back in April 2011, and I'm planning to go back this August again, but we are torn between which way to file? we orginally thought to do the I-729f (fiancee visa) but now some people are telling us, why we just dont get married when I go back in August? which we dont mind either..but if we do get married in august in Ethiopia, does it have to be big? or just him and I, the priest and few friends? and will we be able to get a "marriage certificate"? or can we get married at the U.S. embassy? or do they do that there? I'm just worried that they may deny us if we do the fiancee visa, then I dont know what we will do next? we love each other so much, but this ddistance is sooooo hard!! can you please help on any advice? thank you so much!!! Rahel
