The first thing you should do is read the guide here on VJ :guides:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3aos

Then ask any questions that are not answered by the guide:

It is good to file before visa expires, you do need to send a copy of marriage certificate, so wait until you have that.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

As long as you get married before November 7, 2006, you don't need to hurry, although it is recommended to apply for chang of status within the 90 day period. Even though, you still have plenty of time to get everything lined up and ready to go.

As for your NOA 2, your ex-fiancee (now husband) should have gotten a letter from the USCIS stating that your case was approved and now forwarded to the NVC and that is your noa 2.

Hope that helps a little,

good luck.

Ethan,

You do not want to apply for Change of Status (and I'm not sure that Change of Status from a K1 visa is possible. You want to apply for Adjustment of Status, something that is entirely different.

When your K-1 visa expires is not relevant as long as you enter the USA before it expires.

You will not receive an 'NOA2'. Your petitioner should have received it before you applied for your visa. Ask them what they did with the Approval Notice for their petition.
