What does exactly "TOUCH" means?

A 'touch' is what we around VJ call when you can see on your account with USCIS.gov that your case has been updated. That could mean that some IO has actually physically touched and looked at your file or that is has just been moved to a bigger pile of cases pending to be processed

Really though, it is not an actual indicator of how your case is doing - I never got a single touch during our K-1 - I don't know if they're any better about updating the website these days??

"touched" is when your case has been updated meaning someone is working on it or has worked on it or it has been move from one side to another . you can sign up for case status on the USCIS.gov website and once you sign up you will see a colum that says last updated and when that date changes from one date to another that means you have been "touched" Good luck on your visa journey!!!

Don't get caught up in 'touches'. They mean pretty much nothing in the grand scheme of things. My petition was 'touched' once when it arrived at CSC and then again when it was adjudicated. 'Touches' only mean something if your petition is being worked on, but you don't know if it is being worked on so it means nothing. Don't let hoping for a 'touch' take over your life. When you get to the 5 month mark then you can start thinking, WHAT THE HEY. Until then, sit back, read VJ, ask questions, and start getting everything ready for when your petition is approved.

giggle..... I like your comparison to a grocery store.... seriously though, yes, don't put too much into anything online, whether you don't receive any e-mail or text notification even though you asked for it, nor trust the touches what you see when you sign in your account to see case status updates.

Can tell you from my own experience that my wife's I-130 for my AOS process was only touched when they received it back in October last year, since then she received the NOA1 as well as approval for it and I got my greencard, but if I check the status online it's "still sitting in the initial review state"
