Travelling for the first time since leaving home...

I will be travelling back to Australia for the first time since moving here to the US. The only thing is, my Australian passport is still in my maiden name - my green card has my married name. Will this be a problem when getting back into the US? What other documentation should I bring other than the passport and green card? I plan to take my American driver's licence, marriage certificate, SSC and anything else I can think of.

Thank you for any help you can give. :help:

Great.

Yeah, I'm going to book my tickets using my maiden name.

All you need is your GC to come back to US

and you can get your passport changed over to your married name when you are ready through Australian embassy in your state. I did it and was easy just had to do a change of name from Australia form and send them documents.

Silly question, somewhat related...

Is it true an LPR only needs the GC to re-enter the US and, if so, what does CBP stamp upon entry? I'm a USC and have only entered on my US Passport and they always stamp it so I don't know... OK, I have entered on my DL and US Birth Certificate back in the good old days and they didn't stamp anything back then. I'm just wondering about the process for an LPR and entry with a GC.

My main reason for asking is related to the OP's question and whether or not it's even worth it to have my wife's Colombian passport altered to show her married name at the consulate here. If she will never need to show it to enter the U.S., I see no point in doing so..

N-400

Feb. 12, 2016 - Sent N-400 to USCIS (3-year rule)

Feb. 19, 2016 - NOA1

Mar. 14, 2016 - Biometrics

June 2, 2016 - Interview - Recommended for Approval

I forgot to mention also for the reason you are mentioning the marriage certificate is good to carry also so there is no confusion at POE. But the Gc is good enough as they know some people wait to get a new passport when it expires and have their new married name put on it but as mine is still valid till 2016 I thought I would get it done now and have my name changed.
