Hey guys I need a little help here please.I would appreciate an answer. I made my initial POE in March 2011 and stayed 5 days and returned to my home country. I did not receive my green card ,it came in mail a week and a half after i returned home. My question is i am returning to US for good in mid April but dont have greencard in hand. Can I travel on the initial immigrant visa that was issued or do I need the greencard to make entry. The immigrant visa has another 3 months before expiring. The stamp that the CBP officer put in the passport was on the page opposite the visa, is that considered endorsement of the visa?

You cannot travel on the immigrant visa because when you first entered you became a legal permanent resident, and are no longer an immigrant. Did they stamp your passport with an I-551 stamp? You can travel with that.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

This is not correct.

Upon entry into the US on the immigration visa, the visa becomes a temporary green card that is valid for one year.
