Hi Everyone!

I'm new at this...we just sent in our packet 3 weeks ago. I was just wondering why the processing times for the VT service center seem to regress. 2 weeks ago, they were handling April 4, 2006 and now they are handling Feb. 23, 2006. Does anyone have any experience with Vermont?

Thanks so much!

Kelly

USCIS created this peverse reverse time machine, with dates receeding rather than approaching the present, because of their inept response to IMBRA.

But you are lucky. You sent your packet to Vermont. VSC is a lot faster than the other one, in California, that handles I-129F petitions for most of the country.

Sometimes people in Vermont wait a long time (several months, almost never more). But there are people who filed in July and, I think, in August, who have their NOA2 from VSC. Go poke around the timelines, and you might get information.

5-15-2002 Met, by chance, while I traveled on business

3-15-2005 I-129F
9-18-2005 Visa in hand
11-23-2005 She arrives in USA
1-18-2006 She returns to Russia, engaged but not married

11-10-2006 We got married!

2-12-2007 I-130 sent by Express mail to NSC
2-26-2007 I-129F sent by Express mail to Chicago lock box
6-25-2007 Both NOA2s in hand; notice date 6-15-2007
9-17-2007 K3 visa in hand
11-12-2007 POE Atlanta

8-14-2008 AOS packet sent
9-13-2008 biometrics
1-30-2009 AOS interview
2-12-2009 10-yr Green Card arrives in mail

I can answer that one easily, VSC tends to be quick, as long as your paperwork was in good order, and you provide them withe correct evidence you should see something within 30 days.

Count yourself lucky the other center that handles marriage based visas CSC tends to take 90 or more days to process.

Thankyou for starting a timeline! Best estimate for you is end of this month, and the VJ timeline system estimates November 18.

The time posted on USCIS reflects their policy of "don't call us for 6 months" rule. They now don't post times less than 6 months on their site for most visa types.

Just hang in there!

Don't look at the Processing time, it's wrong. Some people got their petition approved in 6 months, others in 14 days. It's like playing the lottery..

AOS

01-29-07 - marriage

02-07-07 - AOS package mailed to Chicago

02-09-07 - AOS package delivered

02-13-07 - NOA1 date

02-21-07 - Biometrics letter

02-24-07 - NOA1 received

03-01-07 - Biometrics taken

03-15-07 - Transferred to The Sucky/Slow Center (TSC)... to "speed up" processing.

03-17-07 - Transferred notice e-mail

03-20-07 - Received TSC transfer letter

03-21-07 - application pending at TSC e-mail.

05-14-07 - Misinfopass appt. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.

06-05-07 - I-131 e-filed

06-11-07 - AP NOA1

07-09-07 - Received weird looking letter for AP, but online status hasn't changed

Last Touch - AOS 3/24, AP 7/03

Kelly,

What do VSC processing times have to do with packet 3?

What are you talking about, really?

Good point! I did not see packet 3?? I thought I saw I-129F packet, most asking about processing times tend to be about USCIS, not Consulate.

Are you asking about time between packet 3 and packet 4 from the consulate?

Yodrak, I think she meant she sent the packet (K-1 visa) 'three weeks' ago.

Please do a little bit of reading of other thread titles and you will find the memo explaining the new reporting system. The Service Centers have not gone backward in processing.
