hello my husband are planning to file an IR-1 petition for me we've been together since 2003 and been married for 5 years. May I ask for what possible evidences we might need to gather for the petition. I'm also trying to file our emails to each other but my husband is a fil-am so we usually converse in our filino language do I need to have a notarized translation for it? I hope you can help me with these stuff... and I hope you can also give me some hints on the do's & dont's for the preparation and filing of the visa... Thank you and GOD bless :)

I-130 - reread the instructions - there's 6 types of evidence that you can submit with the initial I-130 submittal.

later, at NVC, the DS-230 must be submitted - please review http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html , page 3, for yer civil documents.

If it all seems confusing - hey ! Check out the GUIDES section here (train yer eyeballs UP, find the word GUIDES, click it with a mouse, pick a guide that suits you

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

For IR they're going to want to see proof that you've co-mingled your lives so proof of joint accounts both in the US & Philippines are great evidence. When we filed for Anna's CR-1 we had 2 joint US accounts and 1 joint Philippine account. They'll also want to see co-habituation so any proof of that such as both names on purchase contracts or leases in the Philippine residence would be nice.

Of course on-going communications is good. e-mails & phone records are good there.
