GGT, to get a police report in Lagos, you go to the police headquarters and request one. The price depends on how fast you want it and how much they feel like charging you for one. The information for the police headquarters will be in the packet of information you pick up at the embassy after they receive your petition. You should not get the police report until after you pick up the packet from the embassy as they are only good for a certain period of time. You will also need to get a police report for every place that you have lived other than Nigeria.

My fiance got a police report prior to us even filing for the K-1. We got this before we found this website so we didn't know about how long the process takes. I am telling you this only to let you know you can get one in advance HOWEVER!!! they can and do have a validity date so try not to get yours too far in advance.
