Heyy everyone.

I know im a little ahead of myself, but i like to be prepared and understand whats next.

When i get my NOA2, i understand itll be sent to NVC and then i can call them to find out my London case number.

Ok so what next? I have already printed out all the forms and began filling them in ready to re do them on the computer. But when in all this do i schedule my medical? As soon as i get my case number? Or do i have to wait until its all logged in London before i can book that?

And when do i send Packet 3 papers back?

Obviously im thinking that if i schedule my medical when NVC give me my LDN case number, i can get that done.

Please someone enlighten me with the exact process i need to do :)

Thank You!!

Confused Ben!

For the Police Certificate. At about the time you get your NOA2 you can go to this link http://www.acpo.poli...rtificates.aspx download and print out the Word application form, and get it sent off. It takes around 10 working days to turn around, and is valid for 12 months. You will need this police certificate when you go for your medical.

Medical: This can be booked as soon as your petition has left NVC, and has been given a London case number. You will need to quote that case number when you book your appointment. Look over and fill out the questionnaire here too. http://photos.state....ical_letter.pdf

Packet 3 forms: What is refered to as packet 3 is just a letter from the US Embassy in London with this link. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html When you have your NOA2 you can download these and start filling them out. DO NOT send these back to the embassy until you have confirmation of London logging your case and sending packet 3 out to you.... I will go over that next.

Give NVC about 4 working days from your NOA2 date and then you can start calling them at this number 1-603-334-0700 to ask if they have logged your case and if it has been given a London case number.

Once your petition has left NVC then calling DOS is your best method for tracking your case. This is the DOS # 1-202-663-1225 Don't listen to the recorded message, just press 1 for the main menu and the 0 for an operator. They will tell you the last action on your case. If, when you call, you get a message saying that all lines are busy the you just need to hang up and try again. It usually takes 10-15 minutes to get through.

Good luck

Heyy everyone.

I know im a little ahead of myself, but i like to be prepared and understand whats next.

Here's my list of what you can prepare before NOA2

Petitioner:

1. Order your tax transcripts. Only the most recent tax return is required, but you can order three years at a time for free from the IRS. Tax transcripts are summaries of your whole tax return provided free by the IRS. They can't be faked because it's a copy/summary of your whole tax return picture, basically certified by the IRS because it's issued by them. That's why you don't have to include any 1040, Schedules, W2s or 1099s if you send a transcript. They are free from the IRS. Transcripts take the place of sending a complete tax return. (2010 transcripts may not be available if you just filed)

If you call 1-800-908-9946 (the transcript line), there is an automated system for ordering transcripts. You'll have to enter your Social Security number and the numbers of your street address. It will generate an automated request to mail your transcripts.

2. Start filling out the I-134 Affidavit of Support. It will have to be signed and mailed to the UK the slow way. Get familiar with the form. When the NOA2 is received is a good time to finalize it with the supporting documents and get it in the mail.

UK beneficiary:

1. Get some passport photos taken. You will eventually need

2 US sized for the Embassy

1 UK sized for the police certificate

1 either size for the visa medical exam.

(and for
AOS
in the US, 6 more US sized photos)

2. Go to your NHS doctor and get the immunizations you will need for Adjustment of Status. You can get a K1 visa without having any shots, but you will need them before AOS. It’s really wise to take care of it before getting to the US. Many NHS doctors will do them for free, but they are not obligated to do so for immigration purposes. If you had theses shots as a child, they must be no longer than 10 years ago or you have to do them again. Get the shots documented by your doctor to take to your visa medical exam. If you have everything needed put on your record at the visa exam, you will NOT have to pay a civil surgeon in the US to document your jabs. Here’s the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age:

Td or Tdap
- If not available in the UK, then get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted for
AOS

MMR
(if born in 1957 or later)

Varicella
– Not routinely given in the UK but have seen reference to it being available; a history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa exam.

Influenza
- During flu season only, October 1 through March 31. This was a new recommendation dated November 2010 for all ages over 6 months. Older lists will say flu shots for over age 50. It changed.

3.Order your police certificate. It takes some preparation because you need a passport photo signed off on by somebody officialish who’s known you two years. Here’s the application. Read the instructions. A police certificate is good for 12 months. Must take it to medical exam. http://www.acpo.police.uk/documents/Application_Form.pdf

4. Look at your passport and make sure it will have 8 months remaining after visa issuance. If not get it renewed now.

5. Study the list of original documents London wants you to bring to the embassy and get those in hand or ordered. http://london.usembassy.gov/interview_documents.html

Thank you to all that replied. This is awesome help!!!!

I already got my police certificate and have it back this week :)

Ive downloaded all the forms to familiarise myself with them so i hopefully have that covered.

Ashley (usc) has recently filed her tax return, so hopefully in a month or sos time we can order the transcript??

My main area of concern is that she only graduated last June, and was only working part time before that, but since last July as been working full time as a nurse so have been earning 1500-2000 usd every 2 weeks.

Will this be sufficiant evidence providing we can get a transcript of the latest tax return?

Ill obviously get her to include pay stubs, and try get a letter from her employer.

Oh and ill get her to send me a letter of intent too..

Ok, so when i send back the forms for packet 3. Do i have to send in anyhing else, or do i just take the I134 and all my evidence of relationship to the interview??

I have a print out from my gp of all my vaccinations,,, but i got them all over 10 years ago, does this mean i should get them all done again?? And do i have to have the chicken pox one for AOS??

Lastly, can i have my medical before i send in packet 3? and if so can it be done before my case is logged at london??

Sorry for all the questions

and thanks for the help :)

Don't know, but a tax return with any W-2s is okay too.

If her tax return doesn't show enough to be over the limit, then use recent pay stubs and a letter from employer. A tax return is not mandatory for London. Don't bother unless it proves eligibility.

Oh and ill get her to send me a letter of intent too..

Don't need for London.

Ok, so when i send back the forms for packet 3. Do i have to send in anyhing else, or do i just take the I134 and all my evidence of relationship to the interview??

Send the DS-2001 Readiness form with a cover letter as detailed on UK website. Your personal documents go to the interview. You do NOT need evidence of the relationship for London.

I have a print out from my gp of all my vaccinations,,, but i got them all over 10 years ago, does this mean i should get them all done again??

Yes, exactly the ones listed.

And do i have to have the chicken pox one for AOS??

Varicella shot or tell them you already had chickenpox to be excused.

Lastly, can i have my medical before i send in packet 3? and if so can it be done before my case is logged at london??

Best not to have the medical arrive before London is aware of your case aka "logged".

So really, once i get my LDN case number from NVC, i best not schedule my medical for a few weeks incase it takes a while to get logged?

Damn this is a lot to get right.

Her latest tax return should show enough to be over the limit i guess, seeing as itll have shown her earn above 20000 usd from july to feb....

But i can have my medical before i send in packet 3 then? providing my case is logged at london..

Schedule medical 2-3 weeks out probably because it does take some time to get logged.

Okay to have medical before forms in, but have the forms ready and mail the day you are logged.

Her US tax return will show Jan 1 - Dec 31. Calendar year 2010, not April to April like UK. She should have it done by now since it's due in 2 weeks.

Edit:I sent you a PM. Look at it.
