Who are the unfaithful among us? Look below!!!

OP: If you feel the need for professional help, for your immigration process, hire a Competent Immigration Attorney.

On the other hand, if you have some confidence in your ability to vet through the myriad of information provided here; and feel you can navigate through it for accuracy, you are in the right place.

For those recommending other sites, why are you here? This site is it baby!!

If you did not agree, you would be in that "other" place right now. Not posting to this thread!!!

Hi,

i'm not sure about professional help on the site. I have not started my visa processing yet. I have found, however that by reading the faq's and guides on this website, has given me immense help and invaluable information on forms, processing etc. I'd say read all the relevant information that's prevalent to the K1 visa and if you are unsure or stuck, post a question. There are alot of people on this forum, myself not included! :P , who are a great source of information!!!

Unless your case is extremely complicated, you can learn here everything you need to know to file yourself. From what I have gathered on here, attorneys more often complicate the situation instead of helping, although there are perhaps many who got great help and didn't express that on this site.

It is up to you though and your comfort level. Do what is best for you.

Good luck on the journey!

Dear William33,

The fact that I recommended Jeff - at his request - a very good immigration service doesn't mean that I disrespect visajourney. I just think it honest for someone to have a wider range of options so as to exercise their right to choose the one that suits their particular situation. This doesn't make me a lesser fan of vj and its great effort to provide us with information.

Wishing to learn from you more about democracy,

Your "unfaithful" Callina

I considered hiring an attorney and still will if I end up denied for any reason. The only real advantage I see to using one is that most of them promise they will get your Fiancee here. I just recently did the I-129F on my own with ALOT of help from the great people here. This is an excellent source for information with super friendly and helpful people. Most attorneys I was looking at want close to 2K to do it all for you. That is alot of money to the average person when you can do it on your own and not pay anything. Now if they could speed up the time it takes or something that would be different but they cannot. I actually had a consultation and asked one and was told they cant do anything to make it faster. Anyway I wish you all the best.

Just wanted to add this in case it helps anyone.

I basically got ripped off by an 'immigration consultant'. They took my money and said they'd take care of everything.

HA!

My initial package was sent to the wrong filing location, by the consultant. There's a two month delay.

Some information on my forms was filled out wrong, by them. Totally their fault. If I wasn't so worried and triple and 5 times checking everything it would have went out with false info. They did not apologize for this.

Emails from them have been in very rude tones. Basically calling me an idiot for asking some of the questions.

They said I'd be back in the USA in 6 months. That was 14 months ago.

Anyways, please, unless you have a problem with the english language and can not find a good translator, do everything yourself!!! It will save you a lot of money and hardship.

wow you guys are kind of rude huh?

I know it's an old topic but obviously it still comes up when searching for 'ezvisa'. I was hoping that if anyone else like me searched that term they'd see the old thread, read the recent message and stay away from EzVisa. Just trying to help people. Thanks for being a ####### about it!

I appreciate the information UrsulaWizard =) I am in the process of starting the K1 visa and have decided to do things myself. Always good to have a second and third opinion =)
