Negative impact on a CR-1?

I'm currently in the middle of the AOS process, but I'm currently pregnant and this pregnancy may force me to leave and abandon it (long story short; I have to go home to give birth).

Will it look bad or affect me negatively if I abandon an AOS then immediately afterwards, apply for a CR-1?

Married since 03/02/2011, AOS from F-1 visa, green card granted 05/24/2011.
Blessed with a healthy baby boy, 08/19/2011! We get to keep our family together! Thank you! smile.png

No it should be fine. But I would officially withdraw your AOS not just abandon it. I would include a letter stating you are returning to your home country to apply for a CR-1 visa.

Question though - how far along are you pregnancy wise? Is there anything stopping you from staying here for another couple of months to see if you get your GC before you have to leave and give birth? Can you wait 1 1/2 to 2 months to get your travel document first? Completely up to you of course but just offering suggestions :D

I'm about four and a half months along (20 weeks, the halfway point, heh), but I got an RFE that may or may not complicate/delay things. I also got an Advanced Parole, just in case.

Best case scenario, they accept my additional evidence and I get my interview before it's too late to fly. Less ideal but still great scenario, the RFE slowed things down so that I go home with the AP, give birth, come back and then have my interview. Worst case scenario, I go home, give birth, then go the CR-1 route. I probably won't know which of these will happen until I'm like 30-35 weeks along. XD I'm mainly just scoping out any possible scenario of my situation so I can be prepared for whatever's necessary! :)
