i knOw this info is out there but i been troling through email after email after email ,thread after thread after thread, so a pointer would be great. AVR NUMBER, AND WHAT DO I DO WITH IT WHEN I HAVE IT?

Do you mean the phone number for NVC's AVR? It's 603-334-0700. You can listen to a message pertaining to your case.

You can read about NVC's AVR in my wiki: http://www.visajourn...C.E2.80.99s_AVR

CC and SIF on May 24th.

Should be happy but am very disappointed with the whole NVC process. What I thought would be the easy part of the whole ordeal turned out to be worse than USCIS.

So now I am getting the standard let eight weeks pass before calling and interviews are only scheduled during the second week of any month. After being on this forum for five months now, I know these statements are standard answers these NVC morons are reading back.

Very disappointed!

Congrats on your CC :)

And yes, don't listen to the operators' scripts. You can get a date assigned at any time ;)

NVC will assign an interview date first and then all the paperwork for the case gets sent to the consulate. Usually they send it a day or two after the interview date is scheduled. The consulate will not be contacting you at all. The last correspondence you should receive before your interview is package 4 from NVC with interview details.

Thanks Saylin! Is there anything other than waiting that can be done now till the interview date assignment?

Grats on getting the date! Good luck on getting an earlier date!

And look at that everyone, an interview date not scheduled during the second week of the month! What is NVC doing going against what they tell everyone? laughing.gif

Congrats on the CC! NVC was horrible for me too, but at least you are moving onward now! You will feel a lot better once you get that interview date set.

You can do what I did and call both NVC and DOS each day to see if an interview date has been assigned. Besides that, start getting everything ready for the interview (proof of relationship and such). You can also start preparations for your medical (make sure you have all vaccinations).

Yah! Got the ever elusive SIF today when logging into the payment portal!

I hope this means that they married-up the AOS docs and everything looked okay! Actually kinda surprised it happened that quickly since I just got the checklist e-mail yesterday. I guess I'll call NVC tomorrow and see if they can verify if the cases are complete... although I suspect a CC may take a few more business days at the least...but ya never know!! :D
