Thanks Saylin for the prompt reply! I will keep calling them everyday.

Since you just submitted the DS-230 packet today, you should have your case complete, if no RFEs, in about 2-3 weeks. Until then, just keep calling NVC and asking about any updates. That's all you can do at this point.

And about interviews only being scheduled during the second week, well, it's a LIE. Please look at my own signature as proof. I had my interview scheduled during the FOURTH week of the month. The operators just read from a script, probably to deter people from calling every day. Didn't work on me though laughing.gif

Yes, USCIS definitely needs to re-word this question as I see people confused about this all the time, but spousal visas aren't the only types of visas that use this form, so it makes more sense for other people. Anyways, I just checked our I-864 form, and we left the other fields blank that didn't pertain to us.

Ok. Thanks!

AVR = Automated Voice Response. It's where you call NVC and input your case number and listen to the automated system.

You're probably going to have to wait till NVC sends you the initial information package which contains your NVC case number, IIN, and an expired DS-3032. When you receive that, then re-send the DS-3032 by email and then it should be accepted.

Thank you Saylin, you were correct. I thought I could send it since I had the information. I got their official email and we're back on track.

Jan-2009 - Met online

Mar-2009 - Became a couple

Sep-2009 - Met in person (2 weeks in Jakarta)

Jan-2010 - Denied B1 visa

Mar-2010 - Engaged

Oct-2010 - Married

Nov-2010 - Filed I-130

I got my NOA2 but might be moving to a new address. Is it required to submit the change of address to NVC or when you fill the Change of agent forlm DS 3032 can you mention the address on where the correspondence from NVC needs to be sent to?

Can I use a PO BOX address on the change of agent form? and the intended new address on the DS 230 and AOS?

Please help. Quite confused now since I got the approval and I was thinking of moving to a new place before I got the NOA2 and also was planning for a trip to visit my wife this month.

You can just put the new address on all the forms, DS-3032, I-864, and DS-230.

Thanks Saylin.

1)Just want to make sure if NVC sends any mail via postal mail once a NVC case number is assigned or everything is sent/done via email by NVC? Please note that my country does not qualify for Electronic processing as Canada.

2)Do they send the Invoice Identification number/Invoice via postal mail or via email?

3) what is a beneficiary ID and what it is used for and how to get it?

4) Can the AOS and DS 230 documents be mailed together to NVC? and can we use the overnight express mail service from USPS?

5) When should you give the email addresses to NVC? Is it after the case number gets assigned or before that?

6) How do you know when the IIN number is assigned, do they call or use postal mail to send that information? I believe that you can get that information by calling NVC but I read here somewhere that sometime they refuse to give the IIN via phone that means will they email that information? if so when should we give them our email addresses.

Advance Thank you.

1. As long as you give both email addresses over to an operator, you will not receive any postal mail. All correspondence from NVC will be by email.

2. You get the IIN in the initial information package which contains your case number, IIN, and an expired DS-3032. Again, if you gave your email addresses, you'll get this by email.

3. BIN is needed for those doing online forms (DS-261 and DS-260). What country is the beneficiary located?

4. Yes and yes.

5. The operators will only take your email addresses once the case number is assigned.

6. You can get the IIN from an operator. If you get one that refuses, call again. The IIN is assigned at the same time as the case number, so when you call for the case number, request the IIN too.

expired DS 3032? and do you need to just call them daily to see if a case number is assigned or not?

if they don't give IIN over the phone how soon it is sent in the email?

Thanks Saylin very much for your quick responses.

Thanks Saylin very much for your quick responses.

You usually get the initial information package a few days after the case number is assigned.
