That's strange because we put my husbands from birth until present living in karachi and didnt get RFE...

i thought it was pretty ridiculous too when it was posted but being in VJ this long, we should all know that stranger things have happened.

Well..I have seen someone with RFE for putting dates as xx/xx/2011 instead of xx-xx-2011 or visa versa can't remb which so we looked reallyyyy carefully at what it said to put date as bfore we filled it out.. blahhh

Well I got an RFE because my birth certificate is multi-lingual, the English translation in on the third line not the first, first line is in Portuguese. So talking about strange things....

Thanks, but you know I got so used to nonsense RFEs that I don't get furious or frustrated anymore, it only makes me laugh. I bet I'll have another one this week

i had an RFE apRIL 26, i sent the RFE vIA fedEx on April 28 NVC received it May 2. how long will it take till i get a case close? my RFE was in my DS230 they want me to put the date when i turned 16 ggeeeeezzzzzz its so minor, anyway, sent them a new DS230. . . how long does it normally take for NVC to process RFE's?

I got the same RFE. It took them 10 days after receiving the new DS230 for SIF and CC.

I just received a checklist from NVC a few minutes ago.

Is this an RFE? All of the information was clearly provided for them in the electronic correspondence and makes no sense. I think im going to have to call first thing Monday?

The only thing I didn't do was write the case number at top right because it was electronic and clearly labeled on each e-mail coversheet, etc.

I got the same email after sending in all my docs electronically twice. It is a false RFE as they have not yet checked your docs and put them in the system yet. Dont worry they have not lost your email. Most email correspondence from NVC is generic even when it is signed by someone. The only time when you might get a personalized email from a 'true' person is when you have a 'true' RFE. They basically receive your email, send an auto response signed by someone and when they start to review your case this checklist auto generates as this is the normal procedure to request your docs. then they go into their system to check if it is there before liking the received docs to our case. Being on VJ makes us way faster so we receive requests after we have already completed them. The day after i got this email i got a real RFE for a doc i left out but i had already spoken with an operator who had told me about the RFE so i had sent the doc even before receiving that email.

What i would advise for now is to call an operator on Monday, and ask for the status of your case. They probably will tell you this checklist has been sent and these docs are still needed, then tell them you had emailed the docs already and they probably will tell you to wait 20 business days bla bla bla. If otherwise you can resend the docs.

My view of things tho, every case is different. Good luck.

For someone who has not sent any documents to NVC, I suggest sending the AOS and the IV packages at the same time to get less headache if there are any RFEs. If you send the 2 packages a week apart and start receiving RFEs than thats when the confusion starts.

i know, i tend to ramble! But you really did catch the most important point, being ahead of the game can speed things up for VJ members but when we dont fully understand what is going on we panic. Good thing everything works out for the best always.

Even though we went through NVC two years ago I have always thought that is the way to go. Our case could not have been completed without both so to avoid a false RFE we sent the two packages in together and had no issues.

We sent them same time two diff packages arrived and signed for at same time but took a few days to catch up in the sytem urghhh...so anybody else sending should send in same package but two different files!!! that way one gets in system the other one will too

I called NVC and asked them about the checklist and they were clueless. Asked when I mailed in original paperwork and said "oh it hasn't been 20 days" yet, Please wait.

So sick of hearing that. I asked her why I was getting a checklist for missing documents if it hasn't been 20 days. She said it's system generated when something is reviewed. I thought about asking her what could have been reviewed if they haven't received my case yet, but decided to go as she was just going to repeat the 20 day warning again.

My only theory is that they reviewed our online DS-260 and that caused the checklist to auto-generate. I cant think of anything else that would trigger it.

Back to waiting. I sent the checklist back to them as a backup as well.

I called NVC to check the status on the AVR, and guess what, nothing, nada, rien...after entered my case# the AVR tells me if I have another case to check to enter the case #, it tell nothing about my case, but still telling the same old story for my daughters case. Then I had an operator who told me I was going to receive a letter, she refused to tell me what was it about. Then I called DOS and the visa specialist asked me why didn't I contact the Embassy, I understand nothing of this big S*******

Do you know anyone who had the same message?

Can you help me trying to understand it?
