Im mailing my DS-230 today! Should we write something on all of the pages? For example: Case number, etc?

Writing your case number in the top right corner of every supporting document (civil document) is recommended but, NOT mandatory. I didn't write it on the "original" documents because we will get them back after the interview.... but... I put it at the top of all the certified docs. Once again... it's not mandatory, just recommended.

Thank you Saylin.

Quick favor, cant seem to find how to track your casefile from NVC to Embassy using the DHL by reference search. Can you tell me how it goes? Remember having to put Egypt somewhere, but now I dont have that opnion. I know it too soon for mine, just gives me something to do  .

Go to the DHL website: HERE

Insert the country FIRST... then....

*Shippers Reference: EXP 28 MAR 2011A (try using a couple days before and after the date NVC gave you).

I received my case closed email on April 1st as well and haven't received any more emails or my interview date either.

Ashley and John,

NVC doesn't always schedule the interview date. In my case, the Consulate/Embassy sent me an email notifying me of the date/time. Give it a few days... NVC has to ship your file... AND the Consulate/Embassy has to input the information in the computer. My case was approved for expedite on the 21st. Shipped to Brazil on 28MAR... and I just received the interview date yesterday. It takes some time. Good luck to you and let us know if you need anything.

A note about who schedules interviews and shipping:

If you do NOT have an expedite: NVC schedules the interview date first and then ships the case to the US embassy or consulate.

If you DO have an expedite: NVC ships the case first to the US embassy or consulate and they schedule the interview.

Exactly.... thank you Saylin... I forgot to include that part. Also... I have read that "some" Embassy's / Consulates will not schedule an interview date until they receive your package from NVC... therfore... NVC won't have a date for you until that happens.

Thank you. Even though my casefile hasn't left yet. It's fun to practice!

I don't know them "all" LOL.... BUT.... Brazil is one of them. Brazil requires this form to be filled out before they will schedule an interview (except expedited cases). Point being.... either the NVC or the applicant must send them the DS-230, civil documents, and the DS-2001 before they will schedule.

This is what I sent. I don't think the military portion played a part in the decision because they never asked for proof that I was going to deploy. I think some others have used the "financial hardship" and/or USICS error portions... it may work for you too.

Thank you, Erick. This is great information for anyone who is looking to get their case expedited. Our case is now complete and we are just waiting for an interview date. Hopefully we will get that soon!

Let's hope we get an interview date in June!! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Oops. I meant May interview date....not June!! I can't wait until June!! :crying:

Have you spoken to a person yet? or just checking the recorded message?? I checked my recorded message on Friday and it said No case on file yet, but then called and talked to an operator and got everything!!! Good luck!

Have been talking to an operator. Both times I've called (this past Friday and Monday) the operators have said the case is in the building, but no case number yet. The one on Monday said it could take up to 20 days for the number to be assigned. I'll probably call today, then Friday, as that would be 2 1/2 weeks since petition approval. I'll just keep calling till I get somewhere. ;)

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.
